Discussion on granting file system access (z6m)

I'm trying to install either TEQUILACAT's free reader or ReadManiac's book reader but from what I've read, because these appliactions aren't digitally signed they can't access my filesystem. There is only 3 ways to grant file access

1- firmware fix (Motorola has designed hardware protection against this)
2- adding a fake Root certificate to validate fake certificate (also stored in the firmware) or
3- hack system files containing privileges for installing midlets.

The 3rd option was developed by users in the motofan.ru for the ROKR E1 but I have a z6m. I'm not really that knowledgeable in these types of hacks and was wondering if someone could chime in here to shed some light if this can be done to my phone?

Well have you tried to use the following hack program:
- BitPim

Hi Ian

I use this BitPim program to upload my Jar programs to my phone but what I was trying to do is give a program read/write access to my phone's file system.

I've since learned that modifying the selector.utf will accomplish this and I've found a solution to my problem.

Thanks for your response though
