Help with Motorola Q and Vista Mobile Center

Hey Guys,

Need your help. My motorola q was able to sync with vista using the vista mobile center and 2 days ago my computer froze up and i restarted it and I was unable to connect again to mobile center. I have 4 diffrent motrola q and they do not sync. They sync on my other computers with windows xp.

I tried to reinstall the mobile center software and that didnt work.

I went to device manager and checked drivers and there are no problems there. I had deleted the driver for the phone and refreshed it and it found it again.

When I open the syncing software it trys to connect and gives a red circle with a X in it.

I also changed the setting on the phone under Connections > USB to PC > unchecked the Enable advanced network functionality.

I had tried to call sprint and get tech support but like usual I was hung up on by 2 people and 1 time was transfered (I was not rude or yelling but I guess since they didnt know what to do they just hang up). One lady said I was her 3rd call within the hour about syncing with vista and diffrent phones.

I had called Compaq (b/c the computer is a compaq laptop) and they told me to reinstall windows. I dont think its really a windows problem. I still believe its a issue with the vista mobile center.

By the way I did try 3 diffrent cables and still no luck. All 3 cables do work with the xp computers.

Anyone have any ideas on What I Can do? Like I said it was working fine before.

I'm surprised it worked fine before! I have to use my xp laptop to sync my moto q9 h instead of my desktop Vista pc. btw, I too have had other peripherals just stop working with Vista. I can no longer get the scanner of my all-in-one printer to work; for that too I need to use xp.

I think the bug is in Vista, the dreaded OS.

It could be a bug in visita. But what I think happened was that I had live updates set up from HP as Well as Vista. I ended up just doing a system reinstall and got it up and running. I was wasting more time trying to figure out what was wrong and it was faster just doing the reinstall. Now it works great. Also I have other computers which had live updates on and too my supprise they all experienced the same issue where as the ones that didnt have live install work great.

To make a long story short SCREW LIVE UPDATES. Same thing from some antivirus programs cough cough NORTON, messes up your computer more and slows it down more.
