I think benny's hypersim is stable because he used them for couple of days (training the hypersim) and then sell them.

I dont think there's anything special reprogrammed with his sim.

I have both the Sharp only and iPhone/Sharp combo China3GPP and the sharp only one does not work at least for me. The iPhone/Sharp combo one works on P905i but only for dial out...no incoming call

Are these the same hypersims I see on ebay(everyone says benny's hypersim works but where can I find)?

SH905i works with "Benny's HYPERSIM" obtainable through another forum directly from his peers. He resides overseas. I can't link you as I am unsure if this breaks HOFO's rules for facilitating sales of sim-unlocks.

The phone has been proven to work with what is called the "PSS-SIM FOR 904SH" which has variant names of "HYPERSIM FOR 904SH, 920SH, 911T, 705SH, etc"

No WAP, no MMS.

You may experience issues with the signal giving out at high paced travel.

Just follow the steps from benny and you wont have any signal problem.
I'm still testing that out atm.

Huh, looks like the TMSI problem affects my fully unlocked iPhone too. After a day or so I get "No Service," and I only get it again after putting my PSS-SIMed card into another phone then putting it back into my iPhone. Bummer.

Have you tested any other simcards (or hacks? o.O) Because I also use Cingular and im not sure which one would work best on p905i. (Best as in still unstable but would be able to use phone for incoming and outgoing and txt :] )

I tried searching but couldn't find much info.

Everytime I look at the hypersim website for cutting the card and the little sticker with scissor pictures on it, I am not sure where to cut. Do I just need to cut the original sim where the chip is on the hypersim and the gold contacts of the original sim too?

I just want to make sure before I get mine in the mail.

make sure that the contacts on the hypersim touches exactly on the contacts of your simcard.

u gotta cut ur simcard at where the protruding black chip on the hypersim is, so that it can lay flat and enter the simcard slot.

I recommend using a single-hole hole puncher. If you punch the right spots, the size will be perfect.

So I was hoping someone can refer me to a reputable seller selling hypersim that could be compatible with my sh905i
and btw
how do you put up Goku on the display screen

, I can't seem to find any Machi-Chara stuff in my Data-Box like the other website said it would be there,
or is goku only exclusive to sh905itv. (it is almost entirely the reason why I chose sh905i over p905i~

Hi guys, im also waiting for my P905i...!!!but i would like to know some things so could you PLZ answer me these questions:
1)The quality of the videos recorded from this phone (if anyone can compare it with N95 videos that would be great)
2)Micrso SD 8GB compatibility
3)Macro Mode (i couldnt find anything about macro mode in the user manual...), if there is macro mode, is only for pictures?or for video also?
4)Linux compatibility...(i think thats impossible....)
5)Sound quality of the speakers (compared to N95 or any other SE model available in EU)

I would like to get a SH905i or a P905i but without having to modify my sim. I'll hold out a little longer to see if it ever becomes a reality. If not, then I guess it's snip snip time

I doubt there will be any other way to get the FOMA phones unlocked without dealing with a solution involving SIM modification. Unlocking these phones I think are illegal in the first place in Japan (correct me if I'm wrong), so distribution of "unlocked" ones will either be quite hard to get, or will only be available through the unlocker himself.

Hmm...I need some help

I got the sh905i and the hypersim for 804sh that was recommended earlier. I put it all together and ran it in my nokia 6500 slide for awhile and it worked. Now when I put it in my sh905i for the first time it says it cannot recognize the USIM. I made sure I was putting it in ok but still the problem

any recommendations?

lol, perhaps the simhack doesn't work with the SH905i. my guess.

not sure who recommended you that particular one, but i had said many times to buy the one for 920SH, etc. NOT the one for the 804SH.

apparently, hes selling two type of hypersim on ebay but from what i heard
from my friend (he knows this dude) PSS sim was the 804sh ver.

I had read over this post and one before recommending the one for 804sh.

I had ordered this hypersim before you had posted your results

Hmm...my sim card is a pretty old fido one too, I wonder if that could be a problem?

The only claim that the 804SH sim works is from the dqn.lol seller. But of course it is to be taken with a grain of salt...

Perhaps it may be your old SIM too.. who knows, tons of factors. Get your friend's newer SIM and try it out on your phone.. it might work?

Yea I'm going to try a newer sim tomorrow morning.

I read on hardwarezone as well that as long as it is a hypersim 128 it shouldn't have a problem.

I hate to ask (seeing that this is a Sharp forum), but what HyperSim are you guys using? I'm interested in the N905i (one of the few I know) and am still a bit lost as to what sim-fix to get.

I know people have been getting the iNex (?) ones I believe from eBay, but as far as I'm aware it works for the SH905i (not sure about the P905i, I know one is coming out soon for it). Benny's one works for sure with the SH905i, but requires a "break-in" period. Haven't heard anyone try it out with the N905i.

Like I said, I hate asking since this is a Sharp forum, but it's the only place people are talking about the Docomo phones (no NEC forum...*tear). If anyone can help me a bit, I'd be most appreciative.

The last I was reading, people were working on it (or that it only works for Fido users?). For me, I just prefer the look of the P905i.I WAS looking at the SH905i but something about the P905i has me coming back.

I'm just trying to work out how much it's going to cost me to see if it's worth the effort or not. I do hope that there is a more stable unlock before I jump in the deep end and buy one. Oh and BTW, thanks for posting up the link

Good news!

The issue I was having with the 804sh only hypersim was with my sim card. I tested it out with a newer sim card this morning and it works flawlessly.

I guess this is a warning to anyone using an old Fido sim card from around 2000-2001.

Another vote for FROM JAPAN. They ship fast and have an awesome interface, plus they have great service. Their service fees might be a tad higher, but I think it's worth it.

Anyways, the P905i has been unlocked with some SIM hacks including the original Benny's Hypersim. Benny's making a specialized one just for the P905i to get around some of the issues (I forget what issues...haha) and the official Hypercard one is coming after the Ides of March.

The latter is what I'm getting.

How much was their fees? is it a fixed rate or %?

I was wondering about them, but i thought if the auction for the phone was around $350ish with shipping and fees it would probably be better to purchase the phone on ebay. Though that is if the phone was that high.

Really? I thought it was the old cards that worked and not the newer, 3G USIM cards. Hmm. It works fine in my 920SH, 904SH, and my iPhone (no more "No Signal" issues on the iPhone after prolonged use like before....weird), so I know the PSS-SIM isn't damaged.

They look awfully similar, but no idea. What about previous Panasonic phones in SoftBank? Were they as locked down or were they more lenient?

And yeah, lots of Canucks here as the site is from Canada.

This is what I'm trying to figure out as I'm still a little lost. I've been digging around the net on various phone forums and I've seen a few pictures of P905i unlocked (and one that had Rogers on the screen). Now I know there is a fix coming but are there people here who are on Rogers or Fido who are currently running a P905i?

how do i get rid of the secondary clock that is on the home screen? i see a local clock then a clock of time in japan. o also, is there a way to change the time format to 12H instead of the default 24H..

My phone is fine so far
no "OUT" if u're refering to random 'no network' even if u're outside.
but just low reception coz im always in school.
When im in outdoor or public places, i get decent signal and full bar

mcg: a week is abit too much, LOL! i did it for a day and its fine so far.
but keep using it. it doesn't hurt =)

Its CMOS, dont even bother checking on its picture cause IT SUCKS

SO905iCS used CMOS as well, Im not a crazy photo taker so Im happy with what I have / had
Maybe its just me but I never really noticed big difference between CMOS / CCD in terms of quality

I'm thinking of getting this instead of SE's X1.
I'm not really sure though...buy it from YAJ, ship it to Japan, then get my friend to send it to Canada. I still need the PSS-Sim hack...so confusing. So if theres the OUT icon ont he SO905iCS I would need to take out my sim and put it in another phone while the PSS hack is in a sim that isn't being used? Do you have the PSS stuck to your main simcard?

You need Hypersim to get this phone to use, there are many types out there
make sure to get a right one (All new Hyper sim made for DoCoMo should work perfect with SO905iCS)
If the signal goes out, you need to put your sim into other phone but it never happened so far (been 2 days)
and yes, you have to stick Hypersim to your simcard

They don't share the same SIM, but I think it was more of a fluke that let DCM phones use the SoftBank PSS-SIM.

The PSS-SIM doesn't work on the P905i. Both johnmoon and myself can attest to that. I've tried it on 2G Rogers and Fido cards and it just give me an "Insert UIM" error. Tried an iPhone PSS-SIM for the heck of it, and I get the same error.

no, its the new China3gpp chip just came out not awhile ago, heard its stable with fido, no out, but not with rogers, some1 msg me from mobile01 says he is selling it for 70 bucks in GTA, he did a video chips on mobile01 with his P905i and his new hypersim with rogers SIM and it works, I post that one b4, find it if u want ...... since i don't have P905i, i don't bother to buy one.

Oh man, my sh905i was working perfect all weekend and I got signal out this morning when getting into work. I was only about 10 min without reception. Guess I need to re-break it in. Thankfully I have a BB for work so I can still make calls else I wouldn't know what to do without a phone lol

Since about Thursday. I was getting the signal out issue all Friday so I had followed the post by jon_jai that he got from HWZ and it was working great all weekend. I think the instructions said this may happen a few times before it works smoothly.

Haha, yea I've had that phone on and off for the last 5 years, always selling it but came back lol I finally found it in a really slick black casing and it is my official back up of the back up phone...

The PSS-SIM for Sharp phones, Benny's custom Hypersim and the upcoming DoCoMo Hypercard (official Hypersim) will work for sure. I'd wait for the last one, though, as it should be the most stable and accept any type of 2G SIM card or 3G USIM card.

Can't use mp3 as ringtone only AAC/mmf can't use GPRS/MMS. Can't install JAR games. It is damn nice but after owning a couple of Jap phones, they are damn good to use in Japan but not out of Japan.
