After I get back from Canada (there from March 17th to March 27th), I could pick up a whole bunch for people and resell them if people want them.

So I have been using So905iCs for a few days...have to say that thing is SUPER STABLE with HyperSim. I have never got the "Out" problem in and out of of the subways here!! It's been 3 days and it is still going strong~

I know there are different versions out there...

Which exactly is the one used in 904SH, SH905i, SO905iCS

I know the original PSS SIM used in 904SH (sold by pss-sim.com) does this work for SO905iCS and SH905i?

How about the HyperSIM? Does both the 128 and 256 work for both? Are there any variations ? ie. HyperSIM for Docomo, Hypersim for SHARP etc?

I used to have the "Previous phone" list going in my sig.. then I just gave up on it haha

On the EMS tracking page, my phone says it's in Toronto customs on Mar 09
18:16 Japan time, and there hasn't been an update saying it's out for delivery or anything yet =/ Guess I'm gonna be paying taxes

Are you checking on the Japan EMS tracking page or Canada Post? Canada Post may have more up to date times.

I got lucky with the sh905i where I didn't get hit by customs which was like a first ever for me. Then again it could have been the way dqn.lol packaged it. He had covered the whole package with tape twice so literally no one could get in unless they pretty much cut the whole thing open

I would go for the F905i since it has a very unique screen-swivel that I've never seen before. Also you have an SO905iCS already, so maybe you should consider giving Fujitsu a try

That's true.. but you've got your camera-905i-phone already, so I thought maybe you should get a phone for uniqueness instead.

Compared to the others, the F seems a bit bulkier, though a few millimetres don't make much difference:
F vs SH vs P vs SO vs N vs SO-CS
21mm vs 16.9mm vs 18.5mm vs 19.7mm vs 19.6mm vs 14mm

EDIT: Yeah I'm gonna start referring to them by their manufacturers from now on.. SO905iCS is one long name.

I think the SO905i looks way better and I like the built in stand it comes with for movie watching.

So here is my experience with my hypersim so far.

When I get signal out, if I put the sim + hypersim directly into my nokia, it will not find signal. I need to take out the hypersim and put the sim card in by itself and then after a minute it will pick up signal. When I put the two back together in the nokia it will work fine. Then I can put it in the sh905i again. I hope this problem fixes itself, otherwise I will just buy another hypersim when the specialized DoCoMo ones come out.

I got a signal out today when i was in door for too long i guess. Although the SH905i lasted the 35 minute subway ride. I took out the sim from the sh905i and put it into my GF's phone and it picked up signal, I then placed it back into the SH905i and VIOLA signal is back. Although it worked, i think it is very troublesome and it will be hard to find a phone to stick your sim into to get a signal back.

I am going to try to put the phone into SELF MODE when i know i will be in areas without coverage and see if it will pick up the signal back after awhile.
**Crosses fingers** its in selfmode now, gonna open it back later.

Did you follow the steps and train your sim before putting it into the SH905i ??

because i always get signal back after i trained the sim.

Woo! I just got my sh905i today! I bought from a new-ish seller and I got it cheap too.

So I stuck my card in with a Quick sim I got off eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=220207476619
And it holds signal for like 3 seconds then drops to out of signal. The card works with my 920SC (no more NW Update) but it doesn't work with my 904 or 920... Whats going on? o-O

Actually, now it won't even pick up the signal in my blackberry anymore... Whats going on?

You bought a bootleg unlock sim.

Hypersim is with the chip in the middle.

did you master reset the 904sh or take it off offline mode and on gsm?

I wouldn't call it a bootleg hypersim >_> as long as it works who cares?

Yea try and select the GSM network after you've applied the sim on and wait a minute or so. And if that doesn't work remove the hypersim off your sim card and stick it into any working phone and let it connect then reapply with the hypersim.

Mind you, I bought an 'authentic' hyperSim from Kuro on HWZ. Twice as expensive and it didn't even unlock the 920SC's functions, so I'll take this one any day over an expensive piece that doesn't even let me use features.

When I tried to change to GSM, it said "Switch Failed" and wouldn't switch.

That's peculiar. Try master reseting like aw614 suggested. I don't see why it wouldn't allow you to switch to gsm o.o maybe the previous owner screwed up something. Regardless a master reset should fix it o.o what ever the problem is.

I'd advise you to do your own thorough and comprehensive research before buying HyperSIM's, ie. Kuro's. And not just based on a few words said by members here. At the time of Benny's HyperSIM release, there was not substantial information on what it unlocked or any proof of it working as well. Even Kuro himself had problems with one of them, but apparently it was a lemon.

All I can say is using a HyperSIM on a phone it was not intended for will obviously bring about drawbacks, ie. your frequent outages. You cannot expect it to be stable except by mere luck, or chance. I took a look at the eBay ad and nowhere does it say it supports the SH905i. Neither does it say it supports the 920SC, but as I pointed out, perhaps it may be due to similarities in the phone to the hypersim's intended targets, making it unlockable.

It was unfortunate that Kuro's SIM, which was supposedly functional with the SH905i did not work. Perhaps you should have just bought a regular PSS-SIM which has been PROVEN to work with the 920SC, 920SH, 904SH, SH905i, and even the SO905iCS as tested and documented with pictures by other members, in particular johnmoon.

Try getting the signal back with the original SIM card...then put the SIM hack on...Once the signal is out, you won't get it back with the SIM/SIM Hack Combo. From the pictures it looks like the Next Sim (China3GPP one)...from my experience they are should be very compatible with 920sh and 904sh....they won't work with SH905i thou...I've tried that a few times!

HyperSim do getting better in terms of holding onto signal over time...I put the hypersim which I been using with SH905i into So905iCs and it hold signal extremely well. 4 days in and out of subway with no Out...I duno if this is SO905iCs or Hypersim become adapative to the network. Or it could be the network become more adapt to the Hypersim hack?!

Unfortunately, even the pss-sim doesn't work for me. I got my pss sim(for 920sh 904sh) from a seller on ebay (mmmyttt something). I put it into my sh905i along with my 2g fido sim, it just says unable to recognize UIM. This is the second hypersim that showed the same result for me. Is it me or am I just having really bad luck?

I need some help~~

but I think what he meant was the Pss-sim offered from the original PSS-SIM.com site and not the hypersim labeled as the pss-sim on ebay

I also got my hypersim from that seller >_> well I don't plan on getting a docomo phone for awhile XD

I forgot the username of that person, but somebody else had the same problem and it was that their SIM was too old (Fido)... I have a new ROGERS 3G SIM that I am going to test on the SH905i tomorrow when I get it.

Yep, that was me. I had the same problem. I had a really old fido sim which it didnt work with and once I activated a newer one, it worked.

MM then this is interesting, because in around October 2007, i had a trouble with my old fido sim card and so I had it replaced with a new sim card( not a new number, just transplant it onto a newer sim card) Maybe this is the problem.

It's all interesting, but this is probably too much for me to take on at the moment lol

I was originally searching for a thread where I thought I read that there will be a UK version of one of these japanese phones coming soon, which (might?) be easier to work with in terms of an unlock or just slapping an unhacked sim card in. For some reason or another I couldn't find that thread again and I can't remember the model number of the phone. Could anybody point me in the right direction?

edit: ah nevermind found it... SX862, similar to the 920sh not one of these phones lol.

while we're on the 905's though, hope the soft unlocks work out and are released publically for the N, SH, or SO905i's :P

I have to say johnmoon, you know how to pick them. Each phone you get, has me wanting it. The white N905i is definitely a beautiful phone. Didn't like the red when I was thinking about and never thought about it after. Just waiting for my blue SH905i to come in.

Alright... So I managed to get my cheap 'bootleg' sim working on my 920sc. Its still not recognized by any other phone though. Can you guys point me in the direction of some good sim-hacks that work with the SH905i?

My Japanese isn't that great, but it looks like it's for editing phone data- contacts list, text messages, and stuff like that. But it's for pre-FOMA models (50x series) so it won't work with new 905i phones. Besides, can you imagine typing in new contacts or texts with a PS controller (well, or another use for a USB keyboard on the PS2)?

Just did testing today with the SH905i.

I can confirm PSS-SIM for the 904SH, 920SH, etc. (after "burning-in" for a WEEK), works flawlessly like a software-unlocked phone on the SH905i. Behaves normally when regaining/losing signals as well. Good stuff!

Yea lol.dqn was great. I've bought 2 phones off him already now. He has great service and throws in gifts!

Not sure if it works in the p905i. I think it does but it's just not stable.

more or less, there are a couple complications that arise

hypersim stablility
compatible sim cards (i will have a buncha older sims ready to go tho)
complications on bringing in Keitai in large numbers

all three are being worked on, it will be a one month "popup" store idea
if it all goes well and talks are ok, then u will hear from me regarding this on RS as an actual banner ad!

hyper256/china256 the same thing?
then again..the one i got from AJ also worked...

outs..only had one..leaving pacific center parking..had to restart phone..other than that..pretty damn good

one area i tested it was driving thru the richmond cellular deadzone(granville and no2) reconnected just fine
even where i live, signal sux, i get full bar..its weird..

this will depend on alot of factors, it will ONLY be avaliable for the Vancouver area tho. RS is....a internet site thats faster than the local news when it comes to ALOT of things

the thing is
no one knows
that could well end up NOT working on a 3040/4000 rogers sim..or the newer fido sims...

i will ahve some answers soon..i will be able to test out this X-SIM that alot of ppl ahve been talkin about with some sims this weekend

if the new docomo hypersim works with the newer rogers/fido cards..then great

if not..then its gonna be painful searchin for old ones

That's interesting. My hypersim 128 for 804sh didn't work on my old fido sim, but works on my new one for my sh905i.

Yea, I didn't want to have to wait for another hypersim and I had an extra sim in my house so I tried that first.

I tried it on the sh905i. I'm getting the n905i in the mail soon

N905i got an amazing back keypad light, this has been mentioned already from number of owners but its really gorgeous
Camera is not as good as SO905iCS or P905i (SO905ics takes better picture than P905i)
for the last, those nipple moving cursor... thats just amazing...
