Take a look at downloading a program called IM+

It uses data to send messages so you don't have to worry about using text. Some other similar programs out there are called jivetalk and agile messenger.

IM+ is my personal favorite.

JiveTalk

Awesome program. Test it out first and you will fall in love with it.

Also, RambleIM is a great program, and it's free.

Jivetalk is better for its price, functionality and UI.

I tried ramble, and for the money you really cannot beat JiveTalk

any good ones that use text messaging?

It should have a built in one by Oz?

Any of the Oz or Seven clients will generally use text messaging as opposed to data.

you can download it from MediaNet for free. Just go to Mail/Messaging, then to Mobile IM, and it will DL the client. Not the best program ever, but it can sit in the background, unlike Nimbuzz.

I ate the $30 charge for JiveTalk and I am happy I decided to go with it. It's great.
