Anyone know how to deactivate a Sanyo Katana phone with Sprint. I got mad at Sprint and changed to another carrier, a friend wanted to buy my old phone and I sold it to him, when he tried to activate it Sprint was no help at all, after several hours of transferring him around they told him that I had to pay alot of money for early termination for them to deactivate it and allow him to activate it. Is there a code or way to fix the phone so that he can just get it active in his name and account, I have paid those vampires way too much already...

I got a series of codes from Sprint when I first got it, like ##123456# (simular format) and changed my number in the phone, but I have forgotten how and what numbers it was, will this clear the phone???

I don't think you can do what you're asking. It's not the phone number that's the issue, it's the phone's serial number. Sprint has flagged the phone's serial number (ESN or MEID) as belonging to an account that owes money and won't allow it to be reactivated until that issue has been cleared up. I'm surprised that you haven't already gotten a bill for the ETF (early termination fee). If you canceled your service within the first 30 days, they'd expect you to return the phone or pay the full retail price.

You might be able to hack the phone and change the serial number, but there are problems with that:
1. It's illegal.
2. You'd have to change the serial number to one that's already in Sprint's database, but isn't in use or flagged.
