I am an AT&T customer with an AT&T sim card. I have an LG cu5oov cingular branded phone.
With my AT&T sim card installed "Invalid smartchip" message is displayed.
AT&T is asking for a receipt to be faxed, showing original purchase from a Cingular store. Which I don't have.
Will AT&T do anything about this. Will they provide an unlock code.

not without some proof that you rightfully own the phone.
At least I hope they don't
