SPH-A900 To Touch *Suggestions Please!

Yes this would be my first smart phone, any suggestions or opinions on whether or not this would be a suitable upgrade would be appreciated!
What can others tell me about similar phones that i should look into other than the touch? I don't really like the look of the centro and I am curious about the samsung speculations (touch screen phone coming soon) even tho preliminary reviews from the UK say its nothing new to the market.
I do like the touch but have some concerns,
The keyboard, (yes i know you can find one online that suits your needs but texting and email is a big part of my schedule as well as notes and calender events)
WM6 - Will this phone have an update to 6.1 in the near future for free?
Touchflo 2.0? - Upgrade? or built in to newer touch's ?
Flash? - Is this a major problem when trying to watch videos?
