Pearl 8130 Sending/Receiving Data

I can't say for sure how long it's been going on, today it has been most noticeable.
Seems the device is constantly showing a stream of data up and down while just idling. Battery has been drained from full around 8am to 35% by 3pm and that was a couple of text messages, one phone call and that's it.
Is there any way of identifying what is using all this data or if any sort of background program is still running in some fashion?
