Q9C display turns on randomly

I just received my Q9C the other day and am a first time WM user. I notice that every once in a while, the display will randomly turn on even though I don't receive an email, text, IM or call. Did I get a faulty device or is there a setting that I may have accidentally changed? My email is set to send/receive every 5 minutes and IM is usally on; can this contribute to my issue?
