Which color do you guys think is better? I can't decide. It's the same besides the textured back on the red right?

I have the black, my wife has the red I like hers better.

The black one is a finger print magnet, but you can also buy a full body case skin from here http://www.invisibleshield.com/cell...-2-sgh-i617.php
that I am hoping will stop the finger prints, on the flip side I do not know if the full body application from shield zone will work on the red BJ seeing as it has a textured back that the black one does not have.

So I guess bottom line IMO if my wife had not gotten the red I would like it better.

The only difference I know of, other than the color and back, is some people are reporting that the red version already has the GPS unlocked. But it is such a simple procedure to unlock the GPS on the black model that it's not even worth talking about. I have the black model, and while it does get fingerprints on it that isn't that big of a deal to me. And as for the textured back of the red model, again that hasn't cause any problems for me. I haven't had any issues holding onto my phone. So I think it really all comes down to which color you like better. I personally prefer black, so that's what I went with.

I did not find this to be true at all, the GPS on my black one started just as easy as the red one, no hack nothing. I did find it better to use the google app first since it has a status on looking for satalites.

I have the red one and the GPS is all fudged up. I am truely pissed at ATT for this cripple. Anyway, I chose the red over the black because the black gets fingerprints like no other. The red doesnt. The red has a nice texured back to it and it looks better overall.

Wow, sorry to hear they messed it up. Do you know about/have the link for the GPS unlocker? If not let me know, cause I think I still have it bookmarked. As an added bonus the program also application unlocks your phone too. Best of all it is free, and that's always the right price!

I just returned my Motorola Q9 Global and picked up a Red Blackjack II. I liked the Q9's screen, sound/volume, voice dialing, LED flash, and keyboard - but was turned off by long GPS lock times, freeze-ups, and width.

I was a bit concerned about the Red BJ-II being to "girly" but it's not - it's a nice dark red and kinda cool.

FWIW, when I tried the MoDaCo GPS hack, I found my data features disabled somehow. I did a hard-reset and did NOT install the hack. I am using Garmin Mobile XT, which I dropped onto an 8gb Micro-SDHC card. I get solid GPS lock in a couple minutes - which is much faster than I did on the Q9 Global (although it too worked without the hack). Also, I do get solid GPS lock on the BJ-II when there is NO SIM in the device, so this tells me I can navigate when out of Cell range. I believe that the BJ-II's SiRF III GPS chip (like in my Garmin Nuvi) is a winner.

The GPS hack works for some, others it doesnt. Like me. It worked the first time I installed it and then I had to do a hard reset and it doesnt work anymore. I reinstalled the hack and still nothing. I hard resetted once more and still nothing. Others report the same thing. I was told that I need to continually hard reset until it works. I find that extremely retarded in order to get something to work the FIRST time and the way it should. LAME.

Definitely red. I looked at a buddy's black one and I thought it was too shiny. I am planning on picking up a red one soon.

im loving my red one, it looks sick.
