Sudden buzzing from earpiece during a call (S621)

I've been using an S621 for a couple of months (Tilt is in the mail, butI'm keeping the S621 too) and it has always performed amazingly as far as sound quality is concerned. I like it better even than my 8320, or at least did. A couple of days ago, the phone started having a "buzzing" sound, almost as if something in the speaker was rattling around. If I shake the handset, you can't hear anything "loose", but it certainly has gotten bad enough to prompt me to use a BT headset. It's just annoying more than anything. I can tell you for sure that it's not a network issue. The phone hasn't been dropped since I got it, at least not by me, so I'm at a loss. Any ideas?
