Invalid Sim Card

I keep getting Invalid Sim Card on my BlackBerry Pearl 8100.

I bought it from ebay and it said unlocked:

What should I do? Any settings I need to change?

Thanks,
-Bill

If you're getting an invalid sim message the BlackBerry is most likely locked and not unlocked as the seller claimed.

Phone is locked to Cellularone service, you have to get it unlocked to use it.

On the website the seller posted:
"Note : Sim card is required by the cellularphone service provider."
so phone is locked.

and I assume this was a mistake because the seller also wrote:
"This phone is unlocked and ready for use on any Cellularone service."
(think he ment locked)

If the phone is unlocked you should be able to use it with any service provider not just Cellularone.

I reccommend you email the seller let him know he misadvertised and refund you about $30-$40 (for the unlocking charge you now have to pay).

I agree the ebay post is very mis leading and not very clear at all, it does seem to say it is lock and unlocked at the same time.
You probably should have asked the seller specifically if it was unlocked. You also might want to check to be sure the PIN has been released too.

Or, just ask them to have it unlocked. There are many unlockers on eBay.

Either way you got a good price of the phone is in like new condition. I would fork out to unllock it before I retunred it since you have to pay shipping.

That's what I was thinking because the phone is in PERFECT condition.

Hopefully he will unlock it or give me $30 to unlock it. I wish I knew someone who had cellularone service so they could call the company for me and have it unlocked for free.
