Sprint HTC Touch on Alltel

Hey guys, i've been looking all around the web and all around this forum, and I cannot for the life of me find a straightforward answer. My htc apache screen is totally dead, so I decided to head to the Alltel store and upgrade to the htc touch. well it turns out, you only get the low price on the phone if you sign up for an actual data plan, and I dont want to do that. I've brought in alltel phones from ebay and activated them, but its very difficult to find htc touch's for Alltel on ebay or anywhere else.
So my question is: Can I buy a Sprint htc apache on ebay, and flash it to work on alltel?
I'm pretty familiar with mobile flashing lingo, although I've never done any of this before. If anyone has read anything on this specific issue, or if anyone has any advice or answers, they would be immensely appreciated.
I hate not having a phone!
