New Nokia phone for Bell ???

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I need a Nokia phone for Bell Mobility (my 6275i was stolen last week) I really want a Nokia phone, because they are quite easy to hack with Diego tool, I want to have a phone which I can place the mp3 ringtones onto a microsd card and use them from it like my 6275i, the problem is they seems to have removed the 6275i from their monthly bill plan, and now offer only the prepaid version. Please help, is there any new Nokia phone coming soon to Bell ???

buy the prepaid and activate it on your monthly?

or

Can the prepaid be activated on monthly plan, I don't think it is possible, because I tried once with my old Solo phone for my mother, and there was no way to activate it on monthly plan, I could reactivate the Solo prepaid with no problems on other hand.

Can someone confirm that I can activate the Nokia 6275i prepaid onto a monthly plan with no problems.

Well you're buying a Bell phone so there should be no problems.

They told me they had different Serial numbers and not the same system for activation, maybe that makes the difference.

it will work... just say look i have a phone that is prepaid... and I want to go monthly

it's reffered to as a migration

No, the rules are Solo phones cannot be used in Regular Bell Mobility accounts. You cannot take Solo hardware and use it on your regular Bell Mobility service.

You're pretty much out of luck. Nokia is jumping ship on CDMA phones. You could try to find one used. When I port over to Rogers (maybe tomorrow if they get the K850i then) I'll have a freed up Bell 6275i

Badmana is correct....

Anyone know a good hackable phone (why do they have to block the best functions of every phone they sell, we own them, we have the right to do wathever we want with them, if they were rented, I would agree with blocking functions, but we pay more than 200$ for their phones) on Bell network currently that doesn't require to go on the Internet each time to upload a new mp3 ringtone and can accept them on a memory card (this part is the most important for me). My budget is around 249,99$ depending on what I will receive from Desjardins Assurances.

Samsung A920 but it got discontinued.....

for a true hacking of the phone.....you need to go for GSM phones.....

I thought all the Motorolas are hackable using BitPM (or something like that)?

There is a Nokia in the clearance centre on bell.ca for $0 no contract.

Is the HTC touch worth, I read there was so much problems with it, such as phone turning off, accidental touch press (is there any way to lock the screen to avoid this)

I also got the idea of the Blackberry Pearl, but I think the Unlimited Internet doesn't work with this phone and require a data plan ???

The HTC Touch is definitely worth it, and no intricate hacks required at all to do what you want to do, heck it even has a great MP3 trimmer program integrated with their Audio player to make ringtones.

there are some issues with it, but in my opinion all those small little things are negated by the ability to have Internet wherever you are (in Canada)! All the little things can be tweaked, hacked, etc to your liking, and there's a great deal of support behind this phone, so this will not go stale anytime soon :-)

my two cents, after having a touch for over a month now and fully tweaked in my mind.

Edit: My apologies for the fanboyish ranting, but the phone does not turn off anymore after the latest ROM, which you will get anyhow in the newest Touches and also the White Touch that just released. The device CAN be locked with a simple key press, but honestly i just turn the screen off when it goes in my pocket :-D.

Cheers,

I got a white one in my hands now and the Rom version on that is 1.17.666.1 while the Radio is 1.59.10

And what about a phone that has exactly this (really important for my reclamation to Desjardins) :

2.0MP camera that can take pictures and videos
Mp3 player that can play mp3 from a card
Ringtones that can be placed on the card and used from it
Of course an extension which must be MicroSD type

And all the features found on the Nokia 6275i

All of this on a Bell phone currently available at around 249$ or a little bit more.

I must make a choice before wednesday.
