use outside screen on v9

Is there any way to use the outside screen on the RAZR V9 to view texts?

Nope. I'm not sure the exact reason. I've read a few differnet ones.

Like:

-Feature is locked with some carriers.

-The v9 uses the 3g network. The 3g network is not yet compatible with the new Linux interface (used on the v8,v9m), so the v9 uses the old p2k operating system instead.

I don't know if it will be made available in the future via modding or not either. Some other members may have more information though.

*This is possible on the V9m*

Its kinda dumb though since you can't reply...

Yeah I saw that. You can use "quick replies" though, although they're pretty useless

The non-carrier branded v9 is able to view text messages from the external screen as well as view pics, videos & youtube. You can pick them up on ebay or from various online retailers.

Are there any non-carrier branded v9's that work with US 3G bands yet? IIRC all the non-branded ones only support wcdma 2100

P2K is the classification of the Operating System that the V9 runs (SynergyOS).

The newer OS that Moto uses is MOTOMAGIX (A mixture of JAVA and Linux)
