S710a: Google Maps = "Invalid Application"?

Never had this problem before on this or any other SE phone. When I try to download Google Maps (www.google.com/gmm on the phone; Google correctly identifies my model), the phone pops-up an "Invalid Application" message before it even starts downloading anything.
How do I get around this and download Google Maps?

same thing for my W610...i downloaded it like 2 days ago then did a bunch of stuff to my phone and tried to download it again the same day and got that same message....maybe server problem...

I tried it again the other day and it worked. I guess Google and/or AT&T were having a bad day.
Power-cycle your phone and try again - that's all I can suggest.
