AX8600 and Bitpim not connecting

I seem to be having issues with connecting my LG AX8600 to any software. I’ve tried Bitpim and Handset Manager.

I connect the USB cable to my phone then to my computer and I can see my SD card in My Computer and can transfer the files that way.
I can’t get Bitpim to recognize the phone.
When I tried installing the cable driver using the link on http://global.mobileaction.com/down...lID=727&go=+Go+ it gets to a certain point and I get a popup that says;
1. Power on headset
2. Attach MA 8072P To headset
3. Plug MA 8072P into USB port
4. If MA 8072P is already plugged into PC, unplug it and wait 3 seconds, then plug it into the USB port again
The pop up has an OK and a CANCEL button but only the CANCEL button is clickable

I do all the things it says to do but I can’t click on the OK button. So I click on the CANCEL button and it does not complete the driver install.

Also my phone's screen flashes between screens saying
USB driver is in use
All calls are disabled
Stop USB connection from computer to exit

What do I do now?

before you connect you have to change the pc connection setting to to rs232 port

i've downloaded bitpim and it recognizes my phone. i put one ringtone on my phone as a trial and it worked. i tried to put another on my phone and now everytime i try to go to my audio folder, my phone powers down. i dont know what the problem is. has anyone else had this issue?
