If you are using a headset or handsfree Bluetooth, closing the slide or a flip is disabled. Otherwise you could not answer the phone with the slider or flip closed. You can use the Call/End Call button on your headset. If you are not using a headset or other handsfree device, there should be a setting to end a call by closing the flip or the slider.

There's an application called SlideHangUp that you'll need signed if you want to give it a try. I haven't installed it myself, so I don't know how well it works.

stange, i thought sliding the slide down should end the call...at least back on my proto n95 if i didnt remember wrong..strange.

I've tried that program, and it gave me a few issues. And after I un-installed it Handy Taskman doesn't autoboot. Could all be coincidence, but I dunno...

ShutUp by Samir and Flip Silent both also give you option to hang up call when slide is close. Both are freeware

OK.? - I don't know if this will work on a N95 8GB Slider - But common sense tells me it'll work the same as my 6110 Navigator Slider.!!!

I can't believe someone suggested U actually need ANOTHER Program, to actually CLOSE your own phone.??

U SHOULDN'T NEED ANOTHER PROGRAM.!! - It's in the settings, have a look.!!

Menu / Settings / Phone Settings / General / Slide Handling / Closing The Slide / ( Continue active call / End active call )

** Foto's are not exactly good, but U get the idea ... It's a STANDARD Feature of the phone.!!
# U DON'T need another program to End Your Call.?? - Pfftt.!! - ( Correct me if I'm wrong, please )

there is no slide handling options in general settings like that in the N95-1 at least

OK.? - Well then I just don't get it.? - ( So my apologies OK )

- Coz the 8GB N95 Slider is a more expensive Mbl than my 6110 Navigator, is it not.?
- I don't know, but it " Should " have a setting to handle the slider function, coz mine does.!

But checking the Nokia Website N95 Manual ... It doesn't look like U have that option.? - Which is quite odd.??

Page 97 - http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support..._APAC_UG_en.pdf - Personally, I'd eMail Nokia-Support for a definite confirmation, or support.!! - (Again, My Apologies)

Make calls
Voice calls
1 In the standby mode, enter the phone number, including the area code.
To remove a number, press .
For international calls, press twice for the + character (replaces the international access code),
and enter the country code, area code (omit the leading zero if necessary), and phone number.
2 Press to call the number.
3 Press to end the call (or to cancel the call attempt).
Pressing always ends a call, even if another application is active.
Closing the slide does not end an active voice call.

I'm surprised that different slider models handle sliding differently. My E65, for instance, ends calls when the slider is closed. I assumed all sliders did the same.

It's a little bit different with the N95's since it has a two-way slider. The apps mentioned by Baseballfanz both have custom behaviors for when a call is answered by opening the slide the other way as well as ending calls when the slide is closed.

Personally, I'm glad mine doesn't end calls when its closed. A buddy of mine at work always tried to end my calls by hitting my phone to close the slide, but I'd just laugh in his face.

well
mine n958gb does not close calls with slide
i am using slidehangup utility which works cool enough.

but where are slide setting for application controls etc

I have installed Flip Silent and it works really well, I can now hang up calls by sliding the slider up into the closed position. The other feature I like in flip silent is if Im at a meeting or something and the phone rings I just turn the phone over on to the screen(with the camera facing up), and the phone goes into silent mode. Give Flip Silent a try.
