Hello,

Untill recentley i have always been able to text my gf from England from the O2 network. Around new years time my texts stopped getting through, although i could still call her and recieve all her texts. We both phoned our phone companys, but neither reported any problems!

So in my frustration i cancelled my O2 contract and joined Orange who also gave me a free Lebara sim card dedicated to international calling and texting - however the same problem still exusts, i can call her, but she doesn't get my texts! On my Orange phone she recieved my text but, i didn't recieve her reply! To be honest i dont want to have to use my Orange phone to text because they charge the earth.

Would it be worth her changing her cell phone provider, or does any one know a solution? Please help im desperate!!

Wayne

Are you sure that your completing the correct dialing pattern as per this link:
www.bell.ca/internationaltext (look to ensure that Bell supports the international carrier and then use the dialing pattern listed)

Good luck...

I have never had trouble texting the UK. One thing you have to make sure of is to remove the extra "0" at the beginning of the UK number. Hence, if the number as dialled in the UK is 01770 5605559, the number as dialled/texted from here would be 011 44 1770 5605559.

Sorry guy's i didn't explain myself to well.
The problem is that my texts from the UK are not getting through to hers in Canada, although im usuing the same number to text that was working fine all last year. However, i can ring her cell in Canada from the UK with no problems, it is just the texting. She can also text me no problem.

Ah, sorry clactonlad, I misunderstood. Best thing to do is to narrow down whose end the problem is on. You should try texting at least two other numbers in Canada and see if those texts get through. If they do, the problem is on her end and could be as simple as her having accidentally blocked your number on her phone. If those other texts don't get through, the problem is on your end and you should be talking to the message centre at Orange or O2. I have a feeling it's on her end though.
