Just a couple of questions about PDA's

First, I have read a great many posts about Media Max and the PDA features. I just bought my first PDA (blackjack II) Here is a different question: If I switch to a PDA plan will my browsing experience change? I am not sure what a wap browser is, but I would like to be able to access my work website and it won't let me. Also, when I went to log into my Bank of America account it says "welcome to mobile banking". Is it possible to access web pages like a normal computer? Will the PDA package allow me to do that, or is there no difference in the data on both plans, only one is technically not allowed.
Thank you for any imput.

When a website kicks you back a mobile page, it's responding to the "User Agent" that your browser is reporting. Your browser is telling the webserver "Hi, i'm a mobile device" and it responds with the mobile page. If you change the User Agent to look like one from a desktop browser, it will respond with a desktop page

(So the answer is no, the plan you have has no bearing on what type of page you receive)

Thanks for the input. I think I will sit tight on this Media Max plan until someone makes me switch. As for viewing regular pages, I'll have to figure that out later (if indeed it can be done)

It can indeed be done

You need to app unlock your device so that you can edit the registry, then navigate to this key in the registry editing program of your choice:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User Agent]

There are a number of values under that key, they come set to this by default:

@="Mozilla/4.0"
"Compatible"="compatible"
"Version"="MSIE 4.01"
"Platform"="Windows CE"
"UA-Language"="JavaScript"
"Desc"="Default (Windows CE)"

I believe you want to change Platform to "Windows NT 5.1", and Version to "MSIE 6.0"

That should do it.

Thanks. I'll try that, but only after my 30 days are up and I decide to keep it. I don't use a whole lot of internet, but I don't want to buy their over priced PDA plan, either.
