AIM on 8525 tmobile

I SEARCHED, but could not find what i was looking for.
Is there an Aim that allows you to connect without having EDGE or internet?
Like on my old Samsung slide phone (tmobile) AIM came with it and I did not have a DATA plan or anything, but was still able to use AIM.
And does anyone know if there is a tmobile update for the 8525?
