Holding "C" While Flashing

Quick question. When debranding and reflashing SE phones, the setool and other programs require you to connect the USB cable while holding C, after taking out and reinserting the battery. My question is this:

It takes a long time (numerous minutes) to flash the MAIN firmwares etc - do you have to keep holding C the whole time on the phone, or can you release it once the processes start doing their thing?

I have been holding it the whole time out of fear of bricking my phone, but am hoping I can release it once it reads correctly and USB Flashes.

The official SE utility only requires you to hold C for a short period of time — before it starts flashing. I would be very surprised if the success of the whole flashing process was dependent on something so flimsy as a person's ability to hold down a button

you only have to hold it for about 10 seconds...until it connects and the program recognizes it...once it connects and you start doing other stuff, you can let go.

LOL ya,,, holding it down for that long would be a test of will power and strength..

as soon as u hear the usb sound on the computer you can let go..

Great, after I unlocked my phone and held the "C" button for like 20minutes!
Oh well my phone's unlocked now and at least i was being save, good for future reference though

We should have a tutorial that says "you must hold C the entire time"
and refer anyone who makes a new thread saying "how do i unbrand xxx phone" or"how do i unlock xxx phone"
