So last night I was somewhat drunk and decided to update my phone to 1.1.3. Well, I was running 1.1.1 3.9BL unlocked w/ AnySim. I install "oktoprep" and load iTunes. Instead of updating to 1.1.2 (via shift to 1.1.2 firmware) I ended up doing a restore and locked up my phone. What would have taken me 20 minutes took me 3 hours.

I ended up having to downgrade back to 1.1.1 firmware, but first had to uninstall iTunes to get 7.4.2 so that I could do so. The downgrade was successfull, was able to jailbreak using i.unlock after. I then tried to run AnySim but it said it could not unlock my phone! I was able to do this the first time around, why wouldn't it go? I'm think the baseband remained at 1.1.2 when I did the downgrade to 1.1.1. Anyways, I decided to install 1.1.2 and then jailbreak. Finally, I ran Anysim 1.2u and that did the trick.

Now I'm on a jailbroken and unlocked 1.1.2. Later today, I'm planning to just move up to 1.1.3 via iClarified.

Moral to the story? Make sure you are sober when you decide that you want to upgrade your firmware!

I noticed Drakkhen posted that if you are running 3.9BL you can still use Ziphone after you upgraded to the official 1.1.3 firmware via iTunes. Is this the best method to do so? What are the advantages over iClarified if any?

iClarified has many tutorials, including one for ZiPhone. Which tutorial are you comparing this to?

I upgraded my 3.9 BL iPhones to 1.1.3 through iTunes, ran ZiPhone to jailbreak and activate, then ran Anysim 1.3. Works like a charm, could not be easier.

Damn, of course something has to go wrong. I updated to 1.1.3 no problems, launched ZiPhone, checked off Activate and Jailbreak, phone restarted, and now it's stuck at the black screen w/ Apple Logo.

I can't even get it to go past this screen. iTunes won't even recognize it! What should I do now?
