I get this annoying noise everytime my UTstarcom phone goes in or out of service. (cell tower range) Can anyone help me with disabling this? Even if I turn volume down as in a meeting it still makes this noise. The only way I have found is to put it into flight mode. This is not acceptable.

I am not sure if there is a setting thru the phone that allows you to turn "service alert" on or off.. But I do know that QPST does allow you to turn it on and off..

I am not comfortable playing around with another program like QPST... I am scared of messing something up in my phone. I really do not know anything about QPST tho. Can you clue me in or does someone else have another suggestion?

From the phone screen click menu, options, services tab, scroll to alert, click get settings, then disable. Your all set.

Thank you so much, I've also been annoyed by this while in a meeting at work. I was so embarrassed that it kept making sounds every 30 seconds as it went in and out of service.
