download the PCS connection manager from
http://205.137.195.84/servlet/Selectpage (the last option from the bottom field)

and get the USB driver from
http://www.sanyo.com/wireless/techys_corner/index.htm

Just another option for you. I could not get the method above to work for me and I have the same setup you do.

Go here:
http://www.futuredial.com/support/u...ers/Drivers.htm

This is the USB driver for the FutureDial cable which is the same cable you just bought from eBay.

When that is installed just use your "Create a new connection" link from "Network Connections" menu to create a new dial up connection. All you need to fill in is #777 for the dial-up number. There is no need to include a password or login that I could see. It works great for me.

Good luck.

gsmornot is right. I just set up the connect that way. No need to download the SPCS connection manager software.

You probably already know this...

But be careful how much data flows across your phone...don't want Sprint to cut your service off.

I wonder how much it takes to get your account flagged? I don't mean cut off, just noticed. I don't use the cable much because I am near an internet connection most of the time. This is just for those rare in between times.

Just one question, i thought the Data was unlimited? Why would they cut it off?

gsmornot - Knowbody knows for sure. You shouldn't have any trouble using it like you plan. I too have a internet connection just about everywhere, so I will use it rarely. When you do use it make sure you disable the pictures in your browser, unless you realy need the pictures. This will cut your data you download by over half & make it faster too.

KasperDaghost - Unlimited Vision is for handset only. This is mentioned in Sprint's TOS when you signed your contract. The only way they can really tell if you are using it with a computer is if you are downloanding big files and browsing for hours at a time.

Another possibility; connect using CSD (circuit-switched data) instead of Vision. That should limit you to 14.4kbps and it would use your minutes, but it'd be completely fine by your TOS.

But to do that, we'll need to know how to. Does anyone know how to use Sprint as an ISP for CSD on a Vision phone?

Unfortunately this is not true, either. Immer mentioned a long time ago in the SPCS forum that Sprint can tell a difference by the data packets. i.e., long story short (avoiding all the lingo which I don't know anyways ) Sprint can indeed tell when your phone is connected to the internet through your laptop computer...

Aurora - That's new to me. I have been reading all I can on Sprint's data services. And I havn't heard that they could. But know that I think about it, you are probably right. The data packets would be different. But since so many people use there phones in this way from time to time, that Sprint would loose a lot of customers IMO. I wouldn't mind using the slower WW for my notebook to browse the net. I would like to see Sprint have some type of add on for this service in conjunction with Vision for notebook users, who have 3g phones.
