Please read some tips I posted (right below) to help you get into recovery mode if you feel your iPhone is bricked. If you have weird pixelation and your phone will not get past the Apple Logo / Black Screen, try the solutions I wrote out below.

METHODS:

1) Shut the iPhone off if it's turned on. You will most likely have to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button

2) Connect the USB end of your cable to your computer.

3) Hold ONLY the home button on your iPhone and then 2 seconds later connect the other end of the USB cable to your iPhone.

4) Be patient, the image of the iTunes logo and adapter should come up! At this point, you can now do a restore!

2ND OPTION:

This didn't work for me, but try it before you do the above step. Hold ALL buttons of the iPhone (volume rocker, sleep/wake, and home button) simultaneously and IT MIGHT be able to boot right to the recovery mode screen.

Thanks alot man you saved my life!!

EDIT: Okay for some reason after entering Recovery Mode the screen went black after a few minutes and I had to press the HOME button to get it back up and the iPhone booted up and now its unlocked. I am currently using a T-Mobile sim but I am not sure if it is jailbroken though.

What the heck is going on?

YOU GOT IT!!!!

Now use the first version of ZiPhone to jailbreak and activate it. It will not hang during install and works beautifully! I'm on 1.1.3 now =)

So is this for DFU recovery or regular recovery mode?

What firmware are you trying to restore to? Use 1.1.1, and if that doesn't work go back to 1.0.2

Remember to hold the shift key down when you press restore to load another firmware file.
