Was at verizon and they said new software like just came out today. It's 24.1_01.19.08.

I hate this phone now, the battery life is the worst ever. They just gave me a free battery at verizon- i charged my phone all night, took it off the charger at 7:30 and it was dead by 10:30. wtf?

Anyways, I've been out of the loop for a while on this thing, anything else new and cool to do with the KRZR lately? Any more ways to get free vznavigator or games? haha.. Already done the ringtone thing..

Can someone get me the files from the "Program Files/Motorola/Software Update/firmware" directory on your computer. If you have the firmware that would be good but im looking for the .xml.msu file too. It will look something like this "Verizon_USA_CDMA_88525GHBPA.xml.msu"
Also what is the PRIxxxxxx info displayed in RSD Lite or RSD General. Thanks

Is this bad battery performance before or after the new software was installed?

I would also like to know... isn't this the second update in about the last six months or so?

Maybe this update fixes the poor battery performance some compalined about after the last update was installed.

The battery life is marginally improved, if at all, but the texting lag isn't as bad. I did find that if I kept bluetooth on (without actually using it), my battery lasted longer for some reason.

my friend had it installed and it killed the key repeat rate because he is a mad fast texter. like if you txted to fast a lot of the letters did not turn up.

yeah, the key repeat rate still isn't that great, but it's better than it was with the software ending in .05.

- Fixed when the phone misses a call the missed call beep keeps alerting every few minutes
- Fixed MMS download error, not able to download an MMS message

What do you mean it fixed the missed call beep? Does it give you the option to turn it off or remove it completely?

After updating, I lost my external Caller ID... Whenver someone from my contacts calls, all the display shows is there number, no picture, no name. Anyone if this is a setting I need to re-enable? Also, is there a way to disable the external music controls from turning on while the phone is closed? Or do I need to flash the firmware back and re-activate my phone?

With the new firmware you need to have your contacts saved with the 10 digit number. All contacts need the area code or numbers are no longer recognized.

Open the phone and press CLR then *. Then close the phone.
That locks the phone and no buttons will work until you again press CLR then *.
When its locked like this you can still answer calls by pressing the call button, and end calls by pressing end.

Well, there's the problem... all my contacts were already in 10-digit format. The only thing I can see is that the numbers come up in a non-dashed format, while my contacts have a dashed format. Also, when I go to the call log, it does show the contact names as opposed to just the number. I never had these issues until the new firmware came out.

If I do roll back to the previous one (I got the Monster pack for the 24.1_00.25.0c), any tips for the reactivation to look out for? Or just go on VZW's site, activate and good to go?

I Have Moto Phone Tools Which I Thought Paid For Itself 100 Times. I Used It For My V3 With At&t. Had To Dump At&t Because No Bars Had To Go Outside To Talk. Now With Verizion, Can Talk Anywhere In The House. But.... I Have The Krzr K1m Phone Tools Show Phone On My Lap Top. But No Mult Media. Please In Plan English So I Will Understand Does Anyone Know How I Can Us It To Get My Pic's And Music Off My Pc And Send To Phone Without Charge.

(I've never flashed to an Alltel or anything... only thing I ever did to the phone was a seem edit to enable bluetooth correctly.)

If you are flashing using a VZW firmware MONSTER, all you will need to do is the *228 programming after it is complete. The monster will erase EVERYTHING on the phone, as in all settings, media, downloads, pictures, everything. Also, I have to question the capability of going backwards. On the v3m with the .19.xx firmwares, it is a b**ch to get it to go backwards or flash away from. You may want to do a little research on what firmwares have had problems with the k1m and which haven't. I'd imagine that if you find a .19.xx monster, you should be fine, as that was the case with the v3m. If it is a version below the .19, you *may* have problems. But I honestly don't know, I don't keep up on the k1m firmware all that much.

i have had the same problem recently myself. but it started long after i had the update, all of the sudden certain numbers dont show up now.. wtf? i noticed it was only from other carriers than verizon.

other than that, i dont know what the update fixed. nothing noticeable to me..

has anyones screens just been turning pure white? i think my damn screen died.. it was doing that white thing occasionally, and now its stuck on it. even after restart

it may be a physical problem with the phone too ( i beat my phones up , heh)

Under .05 (they replaced my Krzr) there is no "missed calls" reminder beep...am I missing something. The previous version had it. Plus I got better battery life out of the previous version....

Any seem edit?

I had the exact same problem, and the solution was simple, albeit exceptionally annoying.

When I flashed to the new firmware 24.1_01.19.08 the contacts list remained, however, the formats must have changed slightly. All you need to do is erase your contacts, and then re-save them into the Krzr k1m. That solved the problem for me, although after reading the forums on this phone, it may not work the same for anyone else.

One more note, if you have a data cable and Motorola Phone Tools, you can simply transfer all of your contacts to Outlook, and then delete all the contacts from your phone. Following that, you can copy all your contacts from Outlook back into the krzr. Once you do this, however, your contacts will lose their group associations, and they will also lose any spaces in the name (space between 1st and last name for instance).

What program are you using to flash? 2 Good programs are Multiflash flex located in the Motorola/PST folder of your hard drive (Motorola PST 7.2.6 is the newest that I am aware of that is able to be found) or M-Flash located in the Radiocomm folder (Radiocomm version 11.3.2 is the best so far). Don't ask for links though, finding the programs is up to you. I've had the best luck with M-flash recently.
