(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Im going to probably get some iPhones retail store and hope to use them here in Canada on a non-AT&T network... did lots of research of guides on how to jailbreak/unlock but im wondering if i will run into any trouble with any particular firmware version or are all of them unlockable thanks to Ziphone (even 1.1.1?)

-Oh and i mean software unlock ONLY...i dont want to deal with soldering or any forced entry...

Thanks!

All of them can be unlocked even the new 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 OTB (Out of the Box) phones with the new 4.6 bootloader. Thanks to Ziphone you dont have to worry!

4.6bl 4.03.13_G baseband (1.1.3 baseband) cannot be unlocked. when you unlock from 1.1.3 you end up with 4.02.13_G baseband (1.1.2 bb) and 1.1.3 firmware.

Yeah, but you can now downgrade your bootloader version from 4.6 to 3.9 so you can get there if you wanted.

Has anyone done the bootloader downgrade and had any problems so far?

Problem is if it fails, your iPhone is dead permenantly. With any other kind of upgrade (firmware, baseband), if it fails there is always a way to restore.

It is still unlocked though. Which was his original question.

People tend to make these things more difficult than they really need to be, don't they? The answer to the question is YES, any version of the iPhone can be unlocked in one way or another.

well, they just want to let him know all the "options" hehe..

anyway, if you guys want to have 1.1.3 and also 04.03.13, there's the "longer way". I'm sure ZiPhone will comeout something soon... just wait....
