Bit Pim not detecting V9M-help

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Have tried connecting Motorazr2-V9M to my computer with Bit Pim as well as P2K but it does not connect. Pls help. I want to change the outside LCD Display image of V9M. Any other way to do it?

I don't know if you can do that with BitPim. But, in order to connect your phone to bitpim, go to options, and select for the phone device "OTHER CDMA PHONE". Then click Browse for the port it will use, and *make sure your phone is connected to your computer* select Motorola USB Modem. This will allow you to use the FILE SYSTEM view only! The v9m is currently not compatible with BitPim for the other features.

To change the outside LCD image, I think you may have to use p2k commander. Thats how I did it - worked like a charm!

I was able to change the outsid eimage on the W385 with bitpim.. but P2k may be easier.

if you want to know more about Bitpim and how to make your Motorola better you can visit http://www.sonopia.howardforums.com. It's pretty simple to understand and interesting source

Have you downloaded the USB drivers? These drivers are ESSENTIAL for p2k and BitPim to find your phone.

Ya i got all the drivers installed automatically when i set up moto phone tools before trying bitpim and p2k on vista

No you need another driver too. I am sorry, I made an error with the drive name. You need the Motorola USB Driver. I think. Anyway you can download it from here, but you need to make a login with the motorola website, first.

One more thing, which file am i to change (and how to find it-its path) in order to change outside lcd image?

Posted by: stund

I am not quite sure where it is, but I think it may have been the in /mobile/ directory. My phone is with Bell, so in the directory it said 'bell.gif' along with other folders. I edited a picture I have to the correct dimensions, renamed the default image to bell_old.gif, and then uploaded my lovely new image as bell.gif

bitpim isnt made or should i say updated for the v9m. Only thing on bitpim you can use with the v9m is the filesystem viewer. and you have to use the setting <other cdma phone> ive read on lots of forums and thats the only thing that works

A process to setup up bitpim and change the external graphic can be found at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/FlipGraphic.htm

it also lists the location for the Verizon and USCellular graphic file... it should be very similar for your wireless carrier... (the file name might just be slightly different.)
