I used iunlock.no GUI version 1.1 (I think, there are so many versions!)

Windows XP SP2 in bootcamp on a Mac

J-A-U an OTB 112 that had already been updated to 113.

I did a full restore of 113 first then ran ziphone. Everything worked perfectly.

That's what I did too: updated via iTunes, activated/jailbroke/unlocked via iunlock.no GUI.

It worked perfectly, the first time! No problems since (or before for that matter).

I have noticed that a lot of apps DON'T work after a fresh install of 1.1.3, that DID work after a soft update from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3. I still prefer a clean install of 1.1.3 though, just because it's not AS hacked.

I used 2.0 last night, just to jailbreak. Everything worked fine until I rebooted my phone, which leaves me stuck at the silver apple logo. Then I have no choice but to restore. Anyone?

Did anybody figure out how to get the youtube function to work?I have the 16gb iphone ver 1.1.3 computer is running vista.Everything else seems to work fine so far except youtube.

Something similar happened to me when Jailbreaking, Activating, and Unlocking my 16GB w/1.1.3 OTB.

Try putting the phone in recovery mode, then plug it in, run ZiPhone and just hit the verbose boot option.

It should fix it and not leave you stuck on the apple logo.

Good luck..

Oh and that was on 2.0, I haven't used the newer version so I dunno what has changed..

Afeter using zibri 2.2, all is working fine, only problem is that the phone is stuck on vibrate, anyone knows how to fix????

So do I still need to install AppSupport or iWorld to use this phone in other countries when I travel, or do 1.1.3 unlocked phones via this method not need that?

I want a phone that will work WHEREVER I travel.

Yes, I did not change the BL back down to 3.9.

What do you mean "dont have edge"? Do you mean that youtube doesnt work on edge but it is working on wifi?

So I just upgraded my 1.0.2 to 1.1.3 via iTunes, and ran ZiPhone. It said process was complete, so I tried to put my Rogers SIM card in, and it doesn't appear to work. Rogers doesnt appear in the top left corner, and when I try to make a call it immediately says call failed. Was I supposed to keep the SIM in when running ZiPhone?

I used 2.1 to jailbreak and unlocked. Than I read that you could not deleted Zibri's Blog with 2.1. So I ran 2.2 so I can delete it but I dont know how? What am I suppose to delete it with?

I dont get it... you respond to me asking for help asking for help yourself...?

My youtube works fine on WiFi.

Havent tried it on Tzones yet, try this:
* In Installer go to All Packages and install Bigboss's Beta/Experimental Source.
* Go to Tweaks (1.1.3) and install T-Mobile 1.1.3 TZones Hack.

How did you delete the blog icon?

i just tried jailbreaking with 1.1 and you tube still doesnt work. anyone know what i can do to fix this problem. youtube is not that big of a thing for me but just knowing that onw part of my phone doesnt work bothers me.

Ok I did this and got it to work with my T-Mobile sim but how do I put music, movies, etc. on it? When I connect it to iTunes it says my phone has a problem and I need to take it in for service. I am missing something I know I am.

Do you get sound when you play music/videos with your ipod? I had a similar problem, except didn't get sound at all with any function... what I did was Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings, and then suddenly it started to work fine.

Yes. Update first to 1.3.3, then reconnect the iPhone to iTunes and do a restore. Then you can use ZiPhone to activate, jailbreak, and unlock all at once (just click all 3 checkboxes). Then wait ~3 minutes and you're done!

Did you do a restore? I had the same issue as you did when I just upgraded to 1.1.3 and didn't do a restore before I used ZiPhone. Just do a restore to 1.3.3 within iTunes and re-run ZiPhone with the checkboxes for activate, jailbreak, and unlock checked.

I think I figured it out. I had the 19.99 total internet and when I checked my account online it was no longer there. I need to call them to find out why.

Strange. I had something similar happen to me when I changed phones. T-Mobile for some reason automatically took my data plan off and I had to re-add it on T-Mobile.com

Yep that's what the problem was. They re-added it and everything works now.

Much to my utter fear to doing anything to my phone after the last scare I had was fixed by dhendrickson, i upgraded my phone:

3.9BL
1.1.2 Unlocked
Restored through iTunes to 1.1.3
Ran zIphone 2.2 GUI checked off all three options

My phone is updated and running smooth and unlocked

What a great tool!!!!!

i dont understand some of the things in ZiPhone like -b or -u, so a step by step mini tut. would be greatly appreciated, thanks =)

Restore with iTunes to 1.1.3
Run ziphone gui
check all the option.
Click run
Wait 3 mins and your phone is unlocked and jail broken. Not to hard

Yes, you can do it. I had 1.1.2 OOB, jailborken & using it with turbo sim. Restored to 1.1.3 & unlocked using ziPhone GUI 2.0 & the whole unlocking process took less than 8 mins!!

I just unlocked my iphone using ziphone 2.1 and I can not get youtube to work at all. I have 1.1.3 running on the phone and I am using wap.voicestream.com for my edge settings. I continuely get the error of Cannot connect to youtube. Any ideas?

I had and 8gig OTB 112 that I had updated to 113 officially (I'm AT&T). I bought a 16gig and used Ziphone to J/A/U the 8gig for my girlfriend. Bootloader 4.6 and everything works perfectly over edge including youtube. I did a full restore on the phone prior to using ziphone. I used i.unlock.no version 1.1 of ziphone (released the 2nd day of ziphone). Strikes me that newer versions of ziphone cause a few problems?

Did the update yesterday all went well. My problem now is i lost all my music and videos but i was left with 3.2 gig of memory the rest it said is used by other. Need to know if i have to do restore and do it again. Please help.

Just do it again, it happens. I had the same problem and no youtube fix available would work. I just restored to 1.1.3 and ran ziphone again, youtube worked fine the second time.

It's not exact science, so simply try again, and hopefully you'll get better results, it happens.

No. It will work with no problems.

Maybe I am misunderstanding. You can swap your SIM card between your current phone and your iPhone with no problems.

Starting with version 2.4, Ziphone provides a simple all-in-one interface or a separate
advanced interface for experts or for people who needs more control over the jailbreak
process. Users with AT&T or other "legitimate" iPhone carrier SIMs may wish to use the

The two all-in one modes are:
ziphone -Z Y
Jailbreak, activate, and unlock any version

ziphone -Z N
Jailbreak and activate, but don't unlock

For customers of official iPhone cell carriers, it may be preferable to run:
ziphone -j
Just jailbreak, don't touch activation tokens or unlock. You still still need

Note that after running a jailbreak on a "fresh" phone, you will need to manually install
the "BSD Subsystem" package from Installer before many other programs will work. This package
is NOT included in Ziphone due to size restrictions of the jailbreaking ramdisk.

i have 1.1.2 4.6bl otb jailbroken, unlocked with turbosim, updated to 1.1.3 with ijailbreakmobile. Everything works fine right now. But I want to get rid of the turbosim so i can switch out my sims. What is the best way to do this? Right now i have ziphone 1.1 on my computer. Can I just do the unlock feature and skip the jailbreak and activation? Do I have to restore in itunes then do all 3 features in ziphone? should i use a newer vesion of ziphone? I just don't want to mess this phone up.

I just used this method and it works perfectly. I first restored the phone to 1.1.3 in itunes. Then I ran ziphone version 2.4. It is awesome. Everything works perfectly. Even the google maps locate feature works without having to install locateme or navizon. The phone works fine. Youtube works fine. Feels like I have a new phone. Finally took that turbosim out. Came from 1.1.2 otb.

I recommend doing this. Too easy.

An issue for me. I Have a jailbroken broken OTB 1.1.2. I just installed OpenSSH, but i can't find it in my springboard?

Any ideas guys?

I had a 1.1.3 anySIM that borked on me, so I did an iTunes restore to 1.1.3, and used "Full Automatic" batch file in ZiPhone 2.4 Took only about 5 minutes start to finish, and works like a dream now.

I'm just confused about a few things. Should I be using the ZiPhone GUI, 2.4 being the newest, or the command line format?...which I must admit I don't know how to use. There seems to be debate over this. Also, DFU myself or let the GUI do it? Lastly use anySIM 1.1.3 or let the GUI unlock it?...also some debate over that.

Anyone think it's better to wait for the next firmware and Apple SDK?

I'm using a MacBook Pro with iTunes 7.5 and Leopard 10.5.2

openssh doesn't appear on springboard. It runs in the background and allows you to open up the iphone directories on the computer using winscp.

Install BossTools. It includes an iPod wiper. Run it. That might do it for you.
It requires BSD Subsystem, like several other apps do.

I just opened iTunes, upgraded to 1.1.3 (I have a week 22 3.9 BootLoader Phone), and used the file in the 2.4 ZiPhone Zip file called "FULL AUTOMATIC". It patched everything itself, ran a program that went for 2-3 minutes, and my phone is completely unlocked with the correct modem version, 1.1.3, and working great on T-Mobile. It really is that easy, and I was a skeptic.

Hello!

I'm trying to get confirmation from someone that ZiPhone 2.4 in command line using options -j u a (Jailbreak, Unlock, Activate), will not downgrade Bootloader 4.6 on a 1.1.3 OTB iphone. Can anyone confirm this??

Also, will using the same individual options in the GUI prevent the Bootloader from being downgraded??

Please confirm as I will be running ZiPhone on my iphone again (Music disappeared recently) and I want to make sure I don't get the bootloader downgraded to 3.9.

I have a Out of the Box 1.1.1 with BL 3.9 which was JB, Unlocked and upgraded to 1.1.3 using the soft upgrade process within the installer. With this everything was working fine except for the locate feature in Google maps.

Yesterday night I restored and upgraded my phone on iTunes with the official 1.1.3. (15 mins)

Closed iTunes

Powered off iPhone

Unziped the ZiPhone folder to the desktop

Held the home button while connecting the cable to the phone... the phone started with the apple logo.

Double clicked on the Full Automatic in the ZiPhone folder.

Command window opend and displayed that it was trying to locate the phone.

A whole bunch of scripts ran on my phone screen for about 3 mins.

The phone restarted and 'BOOM' I have T-Mobile signal.

I confirm that this is the probably the BEST idiots software unlock I ever came across and the Z team is so modest that its practically free.

YouTube working
Google maps locate working
WiFi working
EDGE working (I have $20 unlimited plan)

All this was done on a Windows Vista Business OS running mechine.

Start to finish 20 mins max out of which the chunck of time was for iTunes restore.

Go ahead and take the plung guyz... enjoy

Hey I'm new here but have been reading up on a lot... I just got my iPhone and did the Ziphone 2.4 unlocker. Everything is working fine, except anything that has to do with the network... It says could not connect to edge, that I'm not subscribed to it, but I do have the blackberry unlimited service, which I thought was a data plan... It's running 1.1.3 on t-mobile... I can't run the youtube icon, the installer icon, or safari... none of them work unless I'm connected to my wireless router... Oh and where can I find this BSD Subsystem installer?

check your APN settings....the stock APN settings are for cingular (ATT)....you will have to change them for tmobile. Also, I would verify with your service provider that the blackberry data package will cover you for the iphone and if not, switch to an iphone plan.

Yeah I did that earlier and it still didn't work. I reset all the setting and put it back, and was still having the problem. I put roaming on just to see, and now it all works fine... no clue why... Thanks a lot!!! =D

install community and big boss sources
refresh a couple of times ,and try to install again

or

Download and install the community sources in the sources folder. Restart installer and goto update. Update community sources, then refresh the sources after the update.

I currently have an unlocked iphone on 1.1.1. The phone was originally unlocked at 1.0.2, then virginized and upgraded to 1.1.1, and then I used the jailbreakme method and anysim to jailbreak and unlock at 1.1.1. Now I want to go to 1.1.3 and want to use ZiPhone. I just wanted to know what the best way was to do this. Should I upgrade to 1.1.3 using iTunes and then use ZiPhone 2.4 to jailbreak and unlock? Can I backup my phone on iTunes and then restore all my data once I have used ZiPhone successfully?

Sorry for the questions, but I could not find any guide and just wanted to make sure I do this correctly. thanks.

i just did it.... i restored to 1.1.3 and hit the jailbreak + activate option. it seemed to work, except i dont have any service!! what's going on? i have 0 bars, the phone works, but i cant make calls!!!! someone help plz. i tried resetting the network settings as suggested in the guide, but it doesnt work

That happened to me. I just did a full restore to 1.1.3 and tried again and it worked the second time.

If it is just youtube, run the new ZiPhone in Full automatic (it will work even though your phone is already unlocked)

I've done some searches and can't find a clear answer. I have an unlocked 3.9BL phone on 1.1.2. I was just about ready to use ZiPhone when I found another site saying not to use it as it gets the modem firmware/baseband to broadcast an altered IMEI, which is illegal.

I've googled, searched here etc. and haven't found a clear answer. Anyone know for sure?

I can also confirm 1.1.3 now working on my original iphone from launch, which I updated to 1.0.2 / 1.1.1 and then after reading VizagDude's post I then gathered the balls to forge ahead and make the jump from a jailbroke 1.1.1 fw.

First I uninstalled all 3rd party apps, aside from installer, bsd, and open ssh. I also wiped out all photos, music, podcasts and videos just to ensure a nice clean starting point on the iphone. (I figured that it can't hurt)

Using a WinOS Vista machine just for reference data in case one should ask.

I can't wait to try out the new 1.1.3 interface!

I unlocked my BL3.9 iPhone with the anysim unlock on 1.02 (the unlock that kinda messes up the baseband when you try updating).

If I erase my baseband with ZiPhone 2.4, and then upgrade it to 1.13, will it give me the bad imei error?

Ok guys. I can confirm that ZiPhone does JB and unlock brand new out of the box. I had my friend buy an iPhone from Apple, restored and updated in DFU mode on iTunes 7.6 using Vista business OS.

Swaped the ATT SIM with Tmobile, Ran ZiPhone full automatic. After 4 min phone is being used on Tmobile USA.

Get the new version of ZiPhone. Unzip it. Then run "FULL AUTOMATIC.bat"

To set up T-Mobile internet, go to this site and read about it. The have an automatic installer. All you have to do is add it to your resources and run it. Simple enough, right?

hmm... I'm running 2.4 and there is an advance tab with some things I could put check marks in..... such as..

ierase BL 3.9 base band
downgrade 4.6 BL to 3.9 & fresh/unlock 4.03
change IMEI
enter DFU mode
recover mode..

etc

should and of these have check marks.

I keep getting error messages when trying to restore in itunes to a earlier fw after making the iPhone back to original condition using the ziphone app.
I tried 1.1.1 & 1.0.2 & even 1.0.0 unsuccessfully when iTunes tries to complete it's process.

I hope this doesn't mean that you can't downgrade fw's

I stand corrected. Man, he comes out with updates so fast it is hard to keep up. Personally I think the batch file full auto is better than the GUI based version he has up now.

To answer your question about getting to all web pages, I have yet to have an issue with the 5.99 plan.

Use the new ZiPhone GUI, it has a Refurbish setting that will supposedly reset all the settings including the baseband

I'm having a really annoying problem. I've used the latest version of ZiPhone on by OOB 1.1.2 iPhone.
Now, when I try to use an Orange, or any other SIM for that matter (I just happen to have an Orange contract SIM) it's not working...
It just say No Network..

Now, I've messed around with the phone, and updated it to the latest firmware with iTunes. When the phone rebooted I got full bars and the Orange Network in the top left hand corner.. BUT the WiFi ha buggered up and wouldn't get onto YouTube, Mail or Safari...

I've since done another restore and I'm back to square 1....

Any ideas??

It did that to me the first time also. Just restore it back it 1.1.3 and try again. It worked for me the second time I did it.

I purcahsed an unlocked iPhone from the US in October which came on 1.0.2...and was unlocked for the UK which i use a Orange SIM...everything was fine, until the updates of 1.1.3 got the better of me (Map positioning mainly)

I updated to 1.1.3 via Ziphone which seemed fine, until i encounterd the problems listed below;

- Wifi doesnt sync with the source (does not work)
- Some calls come through as Blocked (when they callers number is not witheld)
- iTunes is not syncing my movies even though 'Sync' movies is checked in iTunes
- My number is displayed with a '-' at the top of my contacts list

I would appreciate some help on how to fix these items

I tried that before restoring in itunes, but when itunes comes up I hold the shift key and select restore option in itunes. I selected fw's 1.1.1, 1.0.2, and also tried 1.0.0 with no success. Because on each fw restore it unpacks and loads onto the iphone but at the very last part it fails on each of the mentioned older fw's.

I am curious if anyone has been able to successfully downgrade after using the ZiPhone 2.4 app on their iphone?

1) DFU restore mode is not the same as a normal restore mode. Before upgrading to 1.1.3 (or downgrading to another version) -- in the name of all that is holy put your phone in DFU restore mode, not the normal restore mode with the USB icon on the phone; before you click shift/option-restore in iTunes to flash the firmware. And note I said 'restore' in iTunes -- not 'upgrade'. Yes, 'restore' -- even though you have never been on 1.1.3 before, just do it. Please?

I have T-Zone 5.99 Plan

E-mail. Incoming e-mail works perfect. Sending will NOT work unless Wifi is on. Any solutions to this? I'm using Gmail as well as my personal webpage e-mail address.

Safari. Safari still does NOT work unless wifi is on. Any Idea's? I'm tried the T-zone hack but that didn't seem to fix the problem. So I uninstalled it now I can't find it on my list of installs anymore. I have refresh my sources but still doesn't show up..

Maps. So the only time Locate me works is when I have Wifi on using Navizon. and it is very accurate. But if Wifi is off locate me does not work

Please ask any questions you need to help me like what version of things I am running. Thank you!

Ran ziphone - Magic..
Updated to 1.1.3 using d/led versino.
Ran ziphone - Magic.

Only issue I have is that it seems to think the iPhone is full, yet no songs are coming up in iPod.

It also removed all my texts.. Contacts are there.

Just Purchased a new Iphone and I used Ziphone to unlock my iphone. I can make and receive phone calls but I can't go online with Wifi and Safari. When I click the safari icon on my phone, iphone shows "safari can't open the page because it can't find the server." My phone is connected to wifi and my laptop also runs on wifi too but I still can't use the internet through wifi eventhogh the iphone shows that it is connected to my router. When I was using ZiPhone to unlock my phone , there was something in read me that said I need some type of BDS file for my phone. Please help me with this issue.
I am on AT&T network and I unlock the iphone because I am on company line and I can't activate because my company won't allow it. So that is why i used Ziphone,

I actually sold my 8GB iPhone and got the 16GB in its place. Just Jailbroke/Unlock/Activated on ziPhone and it looks like its working. I think I need to add my MAC Address to surf though on my network here at work. But everything seems fine

It didn't take long for someone to post that. I think it was only up for about 20 seconds before this thread opened.

Anyways, for those of you who are unaware, this version of ZiPhone will activate/jailbreak/unlock firmware version 1.1.4, and baseband 04.04.05_G.

I suggest you to do a restore to 1.1.4
not an update. Because installer keeps old
installed apps in it's cache and you would have problems.
After restore to 1.1.4, just use "ziphone -Z Y" or the first
button on GUI versions.

Side note:
Downgrade bootloader to 3.9!
Do not fear 3.9BL!
It's perfectly safe.
4.6 is the real downgrade.

If your on Boot Loader 4.6 this will downgrade it to 3.9. Also if you unlock 114 you will have latest BaseBand.

Keep in mind that by unlocking frimware 1.1.4, and baseband 04.04.05_G, you will in process be downgrading your BL to v3.9 - It's not a bad thing by any means, but just a heads up

I restored to 1.1.4. Ran Ziphone and just restored my backup. Everything went smoothly. I will now mess around with my iPhone and make sure nothing is messed up.

I have both ATT and Tmobile so I'm just toying with this.

So I just unlocked.

Everything works great except my YouTube and my email programs.

How do I get youtube and the email program to work?

What firmware are you running? People have posted that they had this problem with 1.1.3. I have 1.1.3 and used ziphone and my youtube works fine I haven't use the mail app yet so not sure if thats working or not.

Quick question guys. Can't seem to find a straight answer. I'm currently using a 8gig iphone, hardware unlocked qith fw 1.0.2, 3.9 bl. What path should be taken to upgrade to the latest firmware, and use ziphone to activate/jailbreak/unlock? Is the unlock still in effect?

if you dont know how to dfu restore, I can help you:

open itunes, turn off iphone, plug iphone into computer, as soon as apple logo appears hold down both home and power buttons, after exactly ten seconds release only power button but keep holding home button, after another 10-15 seconds itunes will find your phone and say it needs to restore.

then press shift and restore and select the 1.1.4 firmware that you will need to save to your computer somewhere beforehand.

yes you will see a yellow triangle and itunes will automatically find your phone and says it needs to restore.....if you need more help I will be around for at least 30 more minutes and will refresh the page every little while.

I downloaded a file named iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw and shift clicked restore, and selected the file. When it starts it says preparing iphone for restore and comes up with an unknown error... What to I do now?

hehe....i understand. yeah....before you start, download ziphone 2.5 and firmware 1.1.4. Also, I would upgrade to itunes 7.6 before you start if you havent already done so.

once you do the DFU restore to 1.1.4, the rest is a piece of cake. Open itunes, plug in iphone, open ziphone gui and press "do it all" or whatever that first button says.

How do I do the dfu restore? When i hold the buttons down after plugging it in, all I get is an image of a cable pointing to itunes, and itunes saying, "iTunes must check the iPhone software update server to identify this device"....

The thing is right when I plug the phone in, itunes asks for me to check the update server to identify the device, I click check then it says I need to restore. I shift click the restore button and select the firmware. Then after a while it says could not restore, unknown error...

I dont know it this helps, but I had firmware 1.1.3 and I downloaded the 1.1.4 firmware restore file from ZiPhone, and am trying to do it that way... whould I just try and restore to 1.1.3?

I'm currently just letting iTunes download 1.1.4 its self and letting it restore, hope that at least gets the phone up and running...

Ok, I let iTunes do the restore itself, it started to download 1.1.4 and said it was doing the restore. It says its preparing the phone for restore and just hangs there. Then after about 3 min if says, "Could not restore, unknown error". Anyone?

Ok, new problem... I used ZiPhone to "refurbish" the phone... Now my phone is back to normal, unlocked and everything, it's exactly how it was before I tried to update to 1.1.4, but now iTunes wont recognize the phone... What am I supposed to do now!?
