Good day,

I have a problem that, I'm sure, is simple to solve for more experianced users. The gist of what I am trying to accomplish is to, somehow, copy an image onto the phone to use as a background/screensaver. If possible, I would also like to take an audio file (wav, mp3) and create a ringtone with it as well.

I have purchased a data cable from the manufacturer, and BITPIM (1.5) does recognise the phone. The Filesystem doesn't seem to come up, however.

Thank you for any help you might be able to provide.

I would try out PhoneZoo.com. It enables you to make a ringtone up to 30 seconds and message it to your phone, although I have no idea on what plan you're on so watch out for messaging/data charges. You can use it to use .jpg's and such to create new backgrounds too. It's a really useful and free site.

Thank you!

I'll give it a whirl.

A while back I made a tutorial on how to make a QCP ringtone (.QCP is the audio format for most and/or all Sanyo phones....)

You can give it a try too!

http://ringtoneqcp.fateback.com/

And on the other site at which I posted this tutorial, some people had problems with the PureVoice Converter file... and someone put this up... so if you have any problems with that... see the quoted below!

"For those who are having problems with pvconv.exe...If you are doing the conversion and getting a .qcp file size of 0, do the following...
1. Download Wavepad, at:

http://www.nch.com.au/components/wpsetup.exe

After you use Audacity, open the .wav file with wavepad, and then,
2. Select All
3. Normalize (under Effects)
4. Set High-Pass Filter again at 160
5. Save as File name

You will see that the file size is much reduced.
Then...
6. send file to pvconc.exe...

It will work all the time!!"

Enjoy.

Thank you for the ringtone info, but I don't think that's my only issue. I tried phonezoo as the first person had recommended, and lo and behold, it worked. I could see my picture, I could hear a ring tone. The problem with this phone seems to be that I can't transfer files to it. I couldn't save anything I saw or heard.

BitPim recognizes it, I can backup calanders and send contacts and everything, but screen savers and ring tones need to be downloaded, at a cost, from the server.

All this seems to be a cash-grab... Does anyone have any ideas on how to simply put these files on this specific phone?

Bump. I just got a 7050 from work. I can't even figure out how to change the wallpaper. Is it impossible or am I just that used to the Verizon interface that I can't find it?
