Aparently you cant upgrade to a new FW when downgrading the BL. The only reason why I wanted to originally downgrade my BL was to get ALL the features to work but it seems some are keeping their 4.6 BL and everything does in fact work

I think he means you can't upgrade your BL back to 4.6 once you downgrade.

You're be able to run 1.1.3 (jailbreak, activated) on both versions of the bootloaders. The only difference is you will only be able to run the 4.02 baseband unlocked if you have BL4.6. BL 3.9 will allow you to run baseband 4.03.

There is no guide or quick process to let you upgrade back to 4.6 sould you choose to downgrade right now.

When you're messing w/ the bootloader, there is ALWAYS a risk whether you want to believe it or not, but then again this IS the hacking forums, so I guess it comes with the territory.

Sorry. Maybe I was misinformed. I was told that it was the F/W that couldnt be upgraded. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, and there is no advantage in having a 4.6 BL over a 3.9 BL... so if anyone is willing to take the risk, there is no reason why you shouldnt do it.
(So far people have been downgrading their BL without a hitch... )

Also, note that the modifier '-b' will also jailbreak and activate your phone at 4.03BB on top of downgrading the baseband, so you should haven't to use '-b' with any other modifier except maybe '-v'

so other than google maps locate me feature... there is really no reason to downgrade the bootloader? i mean is there any other reason why I should consider doing so?
