Panasonic 810P unlock via hypersim?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

would like to know if someone knows something about 810P, is unlockable like, using an hypersim or else?
thanks.

Any Softbank phone, including the 810P, is unlockable via HyperSIM. The main question is "how restricted is it?"

Posted by: in2sky

very interesting answer indeed.
actually I must tell you I own a 821SH, bought an Hypersim from SG, from a guy who knows alot about Hypersim and so on.
It doesn't work in Switzerland. In the phone, the hypersim function makes it that I can see my contacts and stuff in the SIM card, but can't connect to 3G network in Switzerland.
So that's why I'm checking with other models to see what I could buy.
I noticed the 821SH doesn't allow roaming outside of Japan, therefore, there is not "select your network" in the menus. Thats why I'm checking about 810P as it's got this select your network section, which might help because then I can select GSM on it and everything should be fine (just like my 904T).
Thanks alot.

About restrictions: It's usually all locked except calling and sms which is fine with me.

Yes the non-roaming ones are an anomaly. I'd still like to know if these Softbank phones are hard-coded to connect only to Softbank, or if they're hard-coded with an 'automatic' setting. Judging by your experience it looks like the hard-coded to Softbank network case.

Out of curiosity, how does the Toshiba unlock work? If I remember correctly, those (911/912/920T) have no network selector, but were unlocked anyway and work with local SIMs.

I'd like to know myself. I haven't read any detailed reports from people using those phones yet, so if you know any threads where people wrote about them I'd love to have the links to read up.

Well, here are two Chinese threads I found-
911T and 815T .

Could you say a little what those boards say? (I can't read Chinese)

Also, the 815T is REALLY pretty. The only thing that I wonder is where to source the modified covers/the interchangable covers - whatever they are. The phone does look cool enough with those external lights all over though. Tap on a few makie stickers and it's as good as customisable covers I guess..!

there is a new english thread on hwz about the 815t, one of the hk sellers has them probably can ask him

I think it can be unlocked via hypersim.
restriction like all the other models (most): you can call and sms only.

Thanks for your reply. It seems that yes, the fact those are non-roaming phones makes it impossible to use as there is not network selection menu in the phone. So you think the network is simply hard-coded and can't use hypersim?

Has anyone tested yet? I thought that multimedia restrictions for Panasonic phones only started with the 820/821P.

How are you getting this from Yahoo Auctions? Are you paying a middle man to help you ship it?

@ osakadry: I didn't see any 810p onsale on ebay.....

so anyone able to unlock this phone?
i still want it so badly

Posted by: yangj08

Here in China auction postings are going up- full software unlock.

Posted by: dalrm

would you mind posting the site?
thanks

Here's a listing/ Don't mind the fact that it switches between Chinese and Japanese a few times; some Chinese sellers get lazy and copy word for word from the manual, Softbank's site, or the manufacturer (Panasonic this time) website.

i did buy the 810p and it a great looking phone . i use a hyper sim and only got to use the call and sms function ..T.T.....now i got the p905i and RIDGE RACER IS FUN

Yep (I dunno about internet- I'm guessing that this may still have the GPRS settings menu if the 705/706P had it). No HyperSIM either (well, specifically the listing says "No HyperSIM required if using GSM"- dunno about 3G). I don't have one myself, but I'm thinking about it. 750RMB translates to a little over US$100- pretty sweet deal for a phone like that.

so have you try using the phone without the hyper sim? because i am using the same network provider as yours and they said "No Hyper sim is require for GSM network". So I want to know if I can use all the functions without the hyper sim. And I think Rogers provides GSM network, is it?

Dude you're not using any unlocked phone. This is a Jphone. If the phone is fully unlocked (software side) then of course you can just roam on GSM but Jphones are all locked. Even with these so called Simhacks they aren't software unlocking them. It's only a bypass so it can fool your phone to believe that Rogers sim you have is a Docomo sim. You can't use a Jphone outside of Japan without 1)a usim from the provider or 2)a simhack.

Rogers does support GSM and 3G. GSM has more support as North America likes GSM more than 3G (yes because we're outdated). However, in some parts of US, GSM isn't very good in terms of coverage either it's half broken.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I never try to use a Japanese phone before, so I don't know that rogers sim cannot work without a simhack and it also require so much work in order to get the phone to work. I wonder where I can my phone to fully software unlock.

China seems to be the only country with software-unlocked 810Ps so far.

Posted by: aw614

like how canada is where the only unlocked 705p exists, I wonder if it uses the same method to unlock

Well, if it is then it will be great news for 705P owners seeing as this unlock is getting around a little more (but still apparently only in China.. I wonder why?).
