Touch Cube Contact Pics Blurry Why?!?

So I tried using some jpeg pictures from my computer to use as my cube contacts and the pics are blurry. The only 1 that is clear is the touch's contact specific photo that i shot of someone (the camera mode made specifically for shooting pics of your contacts) ...

Is that the only way ? or is there a pixel amount that needs to be met or something i could do on infraview etc myself ?

try having the pictures be 300 dpi i know screen resolution is only 72 but it may help

One thing I noticed is that the touch likes portrait pics for contact pics. If they are wider then tall it will get blurry. Try resizing your pics to be portrait and they should be more clear. At least that was my experience.

No luck, its actually very frustrating that you can't just drag and drop your own pics into the phone and use for the cube ....

I tried everything and so far nothing has worked ...

What are your picture settings? I tried 300dpi, 72dpi, tried changing the size to 320x240 but still nothing even tried to set it as a portrait and no better ...

Outlook resamples and "optimizes" your contact images so this makes them look crappy.

If you use a different program like PocketCM to add pictures to your contacts, it will not optimize or downgrade the images.

mine are blurry too...and i just dragged and dropped my pictures...didnt use outlook or anything.

Contact mode works best for me too.

I was using standard picture an never realized how bad they actually were, till i read this thread lol.

And now, i find contact mode is best for me.

A little thread revival here...
Set your pictures to these specs and they will come out clear:

Large (480x640)
Medium (240x320)
Small (120x160)

I had the same problem, but it seems that the pictures have the be EXACTLY one of these specs for it to come out clear on the cube.

Well thanks for the revival but all of them don't do any justice to the photos,

Also side note, using Slide to unlock and its a great little program because it provides a new caller ID function which i think is great, but it blows up the contact pic ... i'm wondering if you can make the contact pic clear if in the super large slide to unlock caller id pic is clear as well?

Its still a mystery ... anyone else have any ideas?

Thats odd. My contact pics are perfectly clear. They were resized by the Touch and fit nicely.

My slide to unlock shows my contacts pic in normal size no distortion or anything.

What ROM are you running and what version of S2U2 are you using?

Duno the rom, but the S2U is the newest version available .... do you happen to know what size your pics are when they go into your Touch? Its strange everything is blurry .... even internet pics i used as icons, when resized look blurry ....

Its annoying to think that you have to take all your contact pics with the touch camera to get clear id pics ...

Mine were all the original size 240x320. I didnt resize them

all of my pics use to be blurry also. What I did was put the photos of my contacts in my pic folder. Remember to use the same pic folder for the one you access through the cube. Then go to the photo app And choose your photos through there, add them to the contacts you want. Then edit your speed dial, and they'll come out smooth. Hope this helps?
