music over BT with BJII

i just got my new BJII last night. was stoked and went and bought a 4 gig sd card for it so i could listen to podcasts while i was travelling and in between radio stations. hopefully i dont get flamed for this. i did try to research this before posting.

i have searched this forum and numerous other trying to find the secret to getting music over my bt earpiece. it is a plantronics discovery 665 headset. i had it with my other phone so i didnt buy it with the BJII. i cannot discern from my manual if it is ad2p or whatever.

what is the process, if any, that i would go about to listen to my music/podcasts with my earpiece and BJII?

it has been alluded to that there is a program maybe that will redirect all sound from the phone to a mono earpiece. is there such a beast? or am i just missing some setting in the BJII itself??

any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanx in advance.

In order to listen to music, you need A2DP capable headset which usually comes with two ear pieces for stereo sound. The only single ear piece BT headset I know that also supports A2DP is Jabra BT8040.

There are some hacks out there that force all audio sound through regular BT headset. But such hack did not work for BJ1 in the past. Not sure if it work for BJ2 or not since BJ2 BT stack is slightly different than BJ1.

If you use your BT headset to listen music often, I'd suggest you get a dedicated BT stereo headset. Not only they sound better, they usually also come with extra buttons for you to skip forward or backward on song selections. Most of these headsets are expensive in retail stores but I managed grab two from online stores for the same price as regular BT headset.

Bluetooth has many profiles for different purposes. Your regular BT headset only supports Hands-Free profile. Hence it won't work with other sounds that require A2DP profile.

ok thanks for the info. i dont think id listen to it much over bt.i think ill do is just get the little adapter for the 3.5mm? headphone jack and get an fm transmitter for the car. that way i can listen in the car and if i need to listen other times ill just use wired earphones.

just wanted to get this working as a temp like i said to listen to some podcasts while travelling in the car. didnt need to be state of the art quality or anything.
