i just got an htc shadow today and i've read in other forums that i can use my mp3s as ringtones...i've been messin with this phone since i got it and i can't figure it out.....if anyone has any good reliable info on how i can get the most out of this phone i'd highly appreciate it....this is also my very first smartphone....thanks!!!

Hey,
Well not sure if its like my s640 but i had to put the mp3 onto the device \My Documents\My Ringtones
You can access the root by plugging the phone into the pc with data cable and goign to My computer it should show you in there a phone and allow you to browse the folders.
Once you put the mp3 in that folder you should now have it in your "Ringtone" list!
