Does aim program that come on the tilt use txting or data?

I was using it for a couple hours yesterday because one person told me it just uses your txts up which i have unlimited of...but then someone else said no it uses data...and I have no data plan...

anybody know which one it is?

it uses text

if it used data and you dont have data it wouldnt let you on

It would but it would charge you pay per use....with verizon you have to subscribe but u can do pay per use with at&t thats why im not sure what it uses

from what i have read in the SmartPhone & Packet PC magazine (i think this month's issue-tilt is the main thing in the magazine and they break it down and tell you everything, here is the shot of the mag: http://s3ntrax.net/IMAG0056.jpg ), if im not mistaken then the guy in the article mentioned something about AT&T blocking you from using AIM when you have Wi-Fi on. Therefore it uses data transfer and AT&T made it so that you have to use the AIM with your data plan or payperuse.

The program that comes on the Tilt, OZ messaging, uses text. The other third party appls (IM+ and Slick, to name two) use data. The data apps can also use a wifi connection, contrary to any articles stating otherwise. OZ won't work over wifi though.

so the program that uses aim/yahoo/messenger on the at&t tilt uses txts instead? cause that would be great
