Missed call indicator won't go away?

I've got a Tmo Curve, and after missing a call this morning the missed call indicator won't go away. I've looked at the call log several times (which usually does it). I've reset the phone with ALT+DELETE+SHIFT. I've pulled the battery. I've deleted the offending number from the log. Nothing works.

How do I get rid of that pesky thing?

I haven't had this problem with my Blackberry(s) yet. But I had it happen twice on my old Motorola phone with Verizon and I did all the things you mentioned.

I ended up calling Verizon and they had to remove it for me over the network somehow. I don't think its a really common thing though. Hopefully T-Mobile can fix it the same way Verizon did for me.

Try turning LED indicator off and save in the options menu. Then go back in and turn it on. Always works for me.

Hi all -

thanks for the suggestions. I wound up wiping the BB clean (via the Wipe Handheld option in the Security screen). That worked.

When I re-added myself to the BES, almost all my data came back, including my call logs. Although I don't have any email on my Blackberry from before I did the wipe.

FWIW, it happened again. I'm pretty sure it's related to having content encryption turned on, and missing calls while the phone is locked.

I'm turning encryption off and re-wiping things.

Pretty drastic way to resolve the issue, and certainly a PITB. Glad it worked for you though.

Annoyingly enough, this time the wipe even got rid of my call logs and home screen icons. I don't know why.

i didnt realize a BES resync would even restore the call log. I just noticed you are from White Plains..... ah, my old stomping grounds. I grew up in Sleepy Hollow.

try pulling out sim card too. I used to get Berry chat / SMS alerts on even though i read them already.
That did the trick for me.

This just happened to me with my new curve and I believe it happened to me with my 8700.

With the 8700, I think it was the voicemail icon was stuck on. Called AT&T & it was some provisioning thing on their end that they fixed. They also informed me that if you do not properly exit voicemail by pushing the "*" (star) key and hearing it tell you "goodbye," that can screw things up. Whether or not its true, I dunno.....that's just what they told me.

Anyhow, had the stuck missed call on my new Curve and I simply reinstalled the operating system and that cleared it.

Kind of a pain, but oh well......
