sorry to start a new thread with my now famous iphone, i have decided on one last effort to see if my phone is really useless.
I have read and reread all relevant posts and i got my hands on my daughters phone which i managed to get working perfectly on ver 1.1.3, by upgrading and ziphone ver 1.1 using dos screen, the gui ver freezes to often.
I feel competent to start one final effort on my own phone, fingers crossed i will get a result.

When i restore through itunes to ver 1.1.3, the start up/activation screen shows up quite funny, emergency slide is ok, background is cable to itunes type picture, info circle is on bottom right and reports correct imei,
to those with knowledge does this sound correct and right to start next stages

I had the same thing happed to me. I thought i was the only one. It shows just like you said, itunes logo and cable but then there is an emergency slide at the bottom. Im trying to fix this right now.

hey all, i can upgrade downgrade and perform any operation i like, i have a very expensive bit of gear that i can access the internet on and many other features but the one i paid for dont work "the Phone" still got no service.
Have to admit defeat and hit it with a hammer it is useless, i have been done by a dodgy deal on ebay, i suppose it is my just reward for thinking i could cheat the system lol.
Thanks to all that tried in vain to help.
