So I've had my cingular BB for about 10 months now, and it's been screwing up since day 1. I finally got it replaced under warranty, and I now have the oogly white 8700.
So far, i've been doin what I can do set it up. However, I can't quite figure out how to get my old blackberry.net email account up. I had the same account on Cingular and it got migrated to ATT on my old phone, but when I try and get the email account loaded on the new BB, it says that the account is unavailable.
What can I do to get the new account all loaded up?

The old account is gone forever. That is one of the hazards of using the carrier supplied account. Since you do not own or control it, it can be changed at any time and there is nothing you can do AFAIK.

I assume you added your new PIN and IMEI to the BIS account to replace the older BB? If so, everything should have migrated over. Is the account you are trying to migrate the cingular account or the att.blackberry.net account?

I want the ATT account. Let's say I had slapshotnerd@att.blackberry.net... i know that the former slapshotnerd@cingular.blackberry.net is gone forever, I just want to get the slapshotnerd account back.
My old phone forced me to migrate completely from cingular to ATT, which I didn't mind. I'm just trying to get the email account setup again.
I just like using that account for outgoing messages, oftentimes to send reminders to myself at my 'regular' email account. If i see it's from my blackberry address, I know it was something I needed to write down

You don't need to set it up again. You need to log into at&t's BIS site and supply the PIN and IMEI of the new BB to transfer your BIS account to the new BB.
