I have a V3c with Altell this Phone stays on roam all the time even though I am near the home tower. I went to the alltel service ct had them to do a Flash. still got the same problem. They said it had the correct prl and sid
is there anything that can be done to fix this. Thanks

Try doing a *228 option 2 to update your PRL, then turn off the phone and pull the battery for 10 minutes or so, and see what that does. If that doesn't work, it has to be a programming issue of some sort. If I were you, I'd take it to your local alltel store, and have them re-input all of your programming data manually. Oh, and you can also do a *228 and whatever option to "program/activate your phone", (1 or 3, I think) press that, and see if that heps. Don't worry, re-programming/activating won't harm your phone.

Thanks for the info and trying to help but that did not work. I have been to the alltel service so many times we are on first name bases. They don't have a clue.

Even if your on a Alltel tower your phone may still roam. It depends if your in your home SID or not. I hate it personally and it is supposed to be fixed in a future prl update (*228)

Thanks For The info But I Have The same SID # and same PRL # in My Phone as The other Phones this House. Is there other #'s I can check or Is Trash
can ready.

I would dial some random numbers (12345) and see if you get an Alltel announcement telling you the number is invalid, or see if you get an announcement for another carrier. That way you know if you're actually "roaming" or not.

I do get alltel mes.

It shouldn't matter if your roaming or not. As long as the upside down triangle on the phone's display is flashing instead of solid, all of your plan, including My Circle, should still apply.

This is True but it shure gets hard to have to dial area code while driving when there is no need in it. Thanks for the reply anyway

Maybe that is why I do not think this is such a big deal. Here in Charlotte, NC we have to dial area code from land lines. Doesn't matter if we are roaming or not, we always have to dial area codes.
