any time I restart or install an app via installer I get the apple logo with an infinite spinner.

the only way to get my iphone back is jailbreak and activate through ZiPhone.

can someone point me in the right direction?

You need to restore it man. Thats the only way.

Same here. Restore will fix that problem.

I bet it only happens when you try to install a certain program, right?

This exact same thing happened to me every time I installed Guitar Hero mod for TTR... No need to restore/jailbreak, I just opened WinSCP and deleted the app i tried to install (in this case, TTR.app) and it worked fine.. the way I ended up getting it to work was just by using SSH to send it over to my iphone, as opposed to using installer.. every other program still installed fine on mine.

I've actually restored it twice and it still does this. I'm supposed to restore via iTunes, correct?

yes, make sure your phone is in DFU mode.

Yes, but on my phone it happened at boot up with no apps yet installed. DFU with a fresh restore has corrected it (for now at least). I'm just not sure it is app specific. It could be another glitch.
