microSD to phone (mp3) issues

I got my shiny new e2000 yesterday morning, so far so good. I got a Sandisk microSD 2gb card today and have issues. I figured out how to move some mp3s from the card to the phone, however, they are around 200kb. I can't get it to move anything that's like 1MB and larger over to the phone. Why do I care? I can't set anything that's on the card as a ringer. My end goal is to get a full song in mp3 format as my ringer.
As a side note I'm missing about half the songs I put on there and all of the images I put on there. I didn't have a microUSB connection, so I just put the card in a card reader and uploaded that way. Any ideas? Images too large? Music not to the phone's taste?
I called customer support... I don't think I'll be calling them again.
