It looks like when another device finds my Tilt via BT it is seeing the name I entered for the phone user information. Is there a way to set the name to something different for the BT?

You'll need to registry edit it.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Set tings

There is a text string "LocalName". Change this to what you want for the Bluetooth name.

I couldn't find any way to edit the registry on the Tilt so I use a program called Mobile Registry Editor that resides on a PC and works through Active Sync. It seemed to make the modification to the registry but the name of my Tilt still showed up as the user info name on the other device when I did a BT search. I changed the user name and it changed the BT registry with it and thats how it shows on the other device after a search. The user name info and BT name are linked some how. Not sure how to unlink them. Unless I can figure out how to make the changes separately I will have to put some crazy name in the user info because I don't want my actual name showing up on BT searches. I normally leave my BT discover turned on all the time.

I think may have it figured out. I must do a soft reset after making the BT name change. But, if I change the user info name after that, then the BT name updates with it. Then I have to go through whole procedure again. I did install Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool program and it has a place in it to change the BT name making it pretty easy.
