Dash running slow

Alright guys and gals I, my new 4 week old dash just recently started running SLOW and I keep getting messages that my "storage space is running low" and advising me to clear old or unused programs.... heres the thing ... the only program I've added to my phone since purchasing it was Pocket TV Pro that was downloaded from handango and that was a demo thats long since been discarded.
Any recommendations I just got this phone and I think I was starting to like it.....

have you gone to your task manager and end the programs running in the background?
