video driver question?

Hey everyone, just pondering a few ideas. Am I correct in assuming that the reason HTC didn't include a video driver for the HTC Tilt is because of a battery life concern?
Secondly, drivers in the PC world don't seem to be overly difficult to modify (not that I know where to even begin) so I was wondering, are there windows mobile cell phone devices that do include video drivers. I know not all phones have similar chipsets, but are there similiar gpus on different phones that would allow a transplant of their drivers onto the htc tilt? It makes sense to me, then again many odd speculations do, anyway, is this a possibility at all?
Lastly, is the htc tilt even capable of receiving a video driver?

I can tell ya it wasnt to save battery life. Making the CPU do video computation drains more battery than letting a GPU do it. According to some recent research, the tytnII (8925/Tilt), already has the driver built in but the OS is not linking to it. I do belive that HTC just happened to use this chipset that had the IGP and intentionally left out IGP support to make room for an easy new model release with it. They just happen to use this chipset cause it was a the mainstay chipset now. Of course this plan is no more due to a very persistent customer base threatening to sue HTC so the driver is on its way sometime next month, we hope. They advertised a multimedia rich smartphone and were gonna get it :0
Yes there are other branded phones using this chipset and with driver support and are performing far supperior than the current HTC models with the qualcomm chipset but that will soo change.

addiarmadar how did you know that they will gonna do something about it?
i thought i'm just the one having a problem on this and i'm expecting HTC to do something. i still can't help it but compare my cingular 8125 video capability against the kaiser's. i still can't accept the fact that i bought an expensive phone that losses to an older model with half strength of kaiser's processor. 8125 still has the better screen from what i observe because the pics and video images shows smoother than kaiser's somewhat a little bit pixelated. the only thing that kaiser won is that the screen color is better that 8125 because the older model has more noticeable blue tint on its screen

www.htcclassaction.org is a good site about this subject matter.

I sure hope the driver issue gets resolved. I haven't yet purchased a tilt and am deciding between it and the iPhone. I want functionality but I also want a great display. With the sdk coming out later in feb for the iPhone I feel the functionality increase might cause me to lean towards it. I really can't come to a decision.
