Tilt WM6 Rom versus 8525 WM6 Rom

I saw a friends WM6 Tilt and comparing it to my 8525, there were some things I saw that was different. Specifically things that I would think would be available in a WM6 8525.

For instance, instead of me going into the Memory to close out running programs. He actually has something on the top right on his task bar of running programs that he can close. This isn't 3rd party software that is in here and of course there are other things that I was like hmm...my WM6 don't have that!

Is there any other official roms for the 8525 other than the cooked versions?

The Task Manager on the Tilt is NOT a new feature of Windows Mobile 6, it is an application created by or for HTC. Maybe it wasn't available by the time the WM6 ROM for the 8525 was released...

I guess the question now is..is this available for the 8525?

This is my Device Information:

Rom Version: 3.62.502.3
ROM Date: 10/11/07
Radio Version: 1.54.07.00

Is there anything newer than this?

You don't need a new ROM for this, you can install just the task manager.

The version in the Tilt is 1.51.

This one actually gives you a percentage on the quick menu showing how much memory you're using.

Just download the .cab file, run it on your phone (I'd recommend installing on the device, not the storage card), and soft reset. You can find the settings for it under Settings > System > Task Manager.

Depends on what you want to do with your device. The Development and Hacking section at XDA-Developers is full of fun stuff to try out.

Or if you want to jump to the dark side, go to the Hermes Mobile 6 forum where you can flash whole ROMs. Make sure you read the wiki (links at the top of XDA) before any flashing, you may end up with a paper weight if you don't.
