GMail problem-REALLY weird!!

I have been trying to forward a Gmail email to my work addresss for a couple of hours now. What it does when I send it is come right back to my Gmail on my Tilt like it was a brand new incoming email!!!! It acts like my Gmail is my work address and that email is NO WHERE on the address line. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON HERE?????????????
EDIT:!!!! 
My office just sent out an email, TWO HOURS AFTER THIS STARTED tell us our inbound emails are down. I still don't see why I just didn't get a "returned" email instead of what I did get, but at least that answers the question.

That's what POP gmail does for some reason. Switch it over to IMAP.
