this is how i updated to 1.1.3 very easy

Hi everyone, I have been asking for help so I can update my iphone to 1.1.3 and I did get the help and me thankful for that. Therefore, I decided to post a step by step that how I did it with no problem. I take no credit
I am just trying to help and all the credit goes to the people that worked hard to make this possible.

Let us start with the phone info, I had an OTB 1.0.2 and it was jail broken activated and unlocked when I got it.
Then I did updated to 1.1.1 and I used jailbrakme.com and anysim 1.1, then I did update the phone to 1.1.2 and used “1.1.2 jailbreak” and “anysim 1.2.1u”.

Therefore, this is the info I had on my phone before I start the upgrading to 1.1.3

Version 1.1.2 (3B48b)
Modem Firmware 04.02.13_G
Boot Loader 3.9

This is what I did:

1. First thing is to download every thing you need to do this and what you need is:

1.1.3 firmware

Ziphone v2.2 (I could not get the 2.4 to work for me so I used 2.2)

2. Now open iTunes and let it recognize your phone and then eject the phone only and leave iTunes open. now we need to put the iphone in a DFU MODE, and this is how you do it:

3. ITunes will say that you need to restore the phone click ok. Then press SHIFT and hold and click restore on iTunes, it will give you the option to choose the firmware you need, then choose the 1.1.3 firmware that we downloaded earlier and let it run.
4. At the end of the restore operation it will take, you to the “slide for emergency screen” keep your phone plug it in and turn off the phone.
5. now it time to use the Ziphone v2.2, first we need to put the phone in the recovery mode and that is how I did it:

6. open Ziphone v2.2 and make sure that you have a check mark on “activate” “jailbreak” and “unlock”
Then click start and let it run.
At the end of this, you will have fully working iphone with 1.1.3 firmware. I did test every app like YouTube and locate me safari mail and the phone, and the installer was there so I did the normal with installing the community sources and the BSD sub system and open SHH. Then I installed the summer board and customize and they both working no problems.

and now this is the info that i have on my phone

Version 1.1.3 (4A93)
Modem Firmware 04.03.13_G
Boot Loader 3.9


Again, I take no credit for this and I want to say a million thanks to all the people that made it so easy for us to do this.

you dont even need to put the phone in restore mode when you run v2.2. If run the GUI to jailbreak activate and unlock, you will notice that it kicks into restore mode before it begins to run the zibri.dat file. I only had to DFU restore to upgrade to 1.1.3 firmware. I just ejected my phone from itunes after the 1.1.3 firmware had loaded and ran ziphone 2.2.

wow...i just did you tutorial and it worked!

bought an iphone yesterday and it was unlocked with all sorts of apps and stuff but i wnated to reset it and start over so....

it had 1.1.1 i followed you steps exactly and upgraded it striaght to 1.1.3.

i'm on 1.0.2 and thinking of upgrading. how long did it take?
also, do i loose my phone numbers and other saved data?

i was on the fence about upgrading from 1.0.2 too, but i took the leap and so far so good. I used ziphone 2.1 i believe and it took like 3 minutes to unlock. you will need to run virginizer before you upgrade the firmware though. I restored with my previous saved settings and got all my data back, but i have read that its best to set the phone up as new and sync all your music, contacts, etc back.

On a 3.9 bootloader...after using Ziphone to jailbreak...don't you have to run AnySim 1.3 to unlock? Or does Ziphone do the unlock too? I thought it only did the unlock for 4.6 bootloader...

I did this and it now keeps saying that I'm not subscribed to edge. Nothing that needs information from other places will work unless I am connected to a WiFi. Did I do something wrong or is there something I need to do?

that means you don' ahve egde setup on you iphone. its not free your carrier will charge you everytime you use it, unles you have a datapaln..
but to set it up you simple get the info form you carrier adn go to
setting -->general-->network-->EDGE-->then you enter in you carriers edge info.

what carrier are you on?

Great tutorial because I was looking for something simple and short and that's exactly what it is. Just updated my 1.1.2 that was unlocked with anysim and everything works perfectly fine. Thanks again.

yeah its really easy man just update your phone through itunes then unlock with ziphone

Hi guys,

I purcahsed an unlocked iPhone from the US in October which came on 1.0.2...and was unlocked for the UK which i use a Orange SIM...everything was fine, until the updates of 1.1.3 got the better of me (Map positioning mainly)

I updated to 1.1.3 via Ziphone which seemed fine, until i encounterd the problems listed below;

- Wifi doesnt sync with the source (does not work)
- Some calls come through as Blocked (when they callers number is not witheld)
- iTunes is not syncing my movies even though 'Sync' movies is checked in iTunes
- My number is displayed with a '-' at the top of my contacts list

I would appreciate some help on how to fix these items

you should be able to do that as long as you used the anysim 1.1 to unlock your 1.1.1 iphone, or if your not sure then update to 1.1.2 and then follow these steps.

If i have 1.1.3 oob, before i run ziphone, do i have to open itunes and keep it running through the whole process or it doesnt matter?
